POPSID cards... still It continues to amaze me that the government even thinks this is still a good idea. The idea of getting high street retailers involved just makes it all the more ridiculous in my opinion. Still, at least it should make it much less tiresome for people who want to get hold of somebody else's ID or who want a fake one for themselves, so that's a plus. Right?

POPSFake Digital Britain report Not so much Fake as Emergent. It would be good if some more people contributed to this. It is nice to see it got a mention from the Guardian, but it could do with more input from more people really. My bits are on a federated ePortfolio based on trust networks to help everyone benefit from being able to demonstrate their skills to potential employers (and possibly educational institutions too) and a brief bit on identity literacy.

POPSARGOSI Yup, check, all looking good to me. This is the approach I was planning on taking with some learning materials about DI, so I was pleased to run across some of Dr Whitton's team at conference (complete with marvellous fake beards - good work ladies!)

POPSIdentity Oh poor form, clipping my own stuff! New site for my musings on identity and society, consciousness as an emergent property and collaborative eLearning - all the PhD sort of junk I do ;-)

POPSEvaluate your web presence? 5 questions, produces a number on a scale of 0-10 (or thereabouts) which is meant to represent how well your 'Brand' is represented in the eyes of someone who does a web search for you. Interesting, and maybe useful?

POPSSurveillance in eLearning food for thought. The student, supposedly the centre of learning, is a second class citizen when using institutional learning environments. Whilst more information may be available about them via social networking sites, the sense (and reality) of better control over data ironically may provide more privacy. People value privacy, even if only to be in control of who they give it away to. Institutional oversight of learning (probably) impinges on educational efficacy.

POPSDistributed Self Ahhh good stuff. Thanks to George Siemens who referenced this blog on his. If we are distributing self, and the components of our self are locally similar to components of other selves, can we, or someone else, aggregate new selves from the parts? :-)

POPSTechnology Stewards My only real problem with this definition is that a nascent community tends to need a technology steward, but when it is just forming, nobody can really have enough experience of the way it works. At this point, it is crucially important for the Technology Steward to make sure that the technology can support the developing nature of the community, and where it doesn't, it should support migration to one which is better suited.

POPSIdentity enriched session management "Identity management as self-portrayal In addition to the private dimension of an identity there is also a public one - the aspects of the person which are presented to the public. This presentation of the identity is always an act of balance between social rules and the demand of the person itself. The content of the displayed attributes is chosen and possibly adjusted according to the actual played role and the pursued goals."
