POPSHappy Ice Cream = jinx Found this on a new Twitter friend's blog. My wife and I play the jinx game all the time. I'm forwarding this clip to her as I think she'll think the story is cute, because she's interested in Japanese culture as well.

POPSfunny conclusion to a great article So the article is really about Kory Mohr's vision of a city-wide free wi-fi service. It's a good read. I've bee following Kory on Twitter for a while and am hoping to meet him for lunch one day. After reading this article, I have better context concerning one of his passions. Very cool.

POPS4 types of Twitter users I don't know if I agree with just the four. I'd definiely say I'm an aspiring Twitter Star. I just don't have a lot of followers yet. Now if only I could get some real interaction going between me and some of my followers... Or get people who are really my friends.

POPSGimme DVR for Twittervision and Flickrvision I haven't written a real blog post in a while. Today, however, I felt compelled to request DVR features for twittervision and flickrvision. Please help me bring this to Dave's attention and show support for the effort by either popping this clip or sending a trackback ping of your blog post to my original blog post or leave a comment on my blog post.

POPSJohn Edwards' Twitter Friends
So I'm interested to see how the '08 US presidential campaigns play out on Twitter. I figured I'd take snapshots of how many Twitter profiles each candidate befriends. I'll also capture how many people follow the candidates' profiles. I guess the trend I want to figure out is how each of the candidates manage which profiles they befriend. Early on, I befriended and was befriended by John Edwards' Twitter profile. I befriended and was befriended by Barack Obama's Twitter profile shortly before the first Democratic Presidential Debate. My Twitter posts were a little more tame then, so I'm also curious to see how befriended profiles are monitored, if in fact they are. Will friends be dropped depending on how well they represent the candidate's characteristics? Are the Twitter friends even monitored? What's the real point in using Twitter other than a little extra exposure? If you know of any other candidates that are on Twitter, let me know and I'll track them too.

POPSTwitter posts now link to users you address So this is something that i noticed just a couple of minutes ago. You see down there in the bottom of that Twitter post? It reads, " in reply to BryanAlexander." It appears to me that when you address your post at a particular user by following the convention <@username> the Twitter website will link to that user's Twitter timeline on the website. I think this is pretty neat and right on time.

POPSSome of my Twitter posts So after watching Jericho, I had some feelings that I thought I'd express. I could've posted a blog entry with my thoughts, but I didn't want to compose a whole essay about my feelings. I really just wanted to blow off a little bit of steam by posting a couple of quick messages. So I expressed myself through Twitter. I also clipped the posts to commemorate the moment.

POPSMost Favorited Twitters are in Asia This is a follow-up to one of my previous clips that talked about the Like or Dislike buttons you find in tweet bubbles on Twittermap and Twittervision . Turns out that they're keeping score and you can find most favorited and least favorited tweets at Twittervision.com. Just a brief look at the most favorited tweets appears to show that Asia is in the lead. Of course, there'd be plenty of factors into why it is this way, but I think the culmination of all those facts leading to this current truth is interesting in itself.

POPSLike or Dislike a Tweet Many of you have heard of Twitter I'm sure. It's all the rage these days. Occassionally, I watch Twittervision or use TwitterMap, two mashups of Twitter + Google Maps and both have those little green and orange squares in the tweet bubbles that appear. I've been wondering what those little boxes were for. Well, this evening, it became apparent to me. See the captions that appear near the top left corner of the map? Yeah, I don't remember seeing those before. They only show up when you mouse over the green or orange buttons in the tweet bubble. At any rate, I don't know what the affect of clicking on either button is, yet. Will reply when I do.

POPSObama - On the Issues Okay, maybe it's strange that I'm a pretty web savvy afro-american but haven't yet visited Obama's website. However, though, I've been an Edwards supporter, before Obama, and haven't even really checked out Edwards' site. I guess now is the time after having watched part of the Democratic debate this week and after starting to follow both Edwards and Obama on Twitter. Obama only recently found a presence on Twitter and his only tweet points to his website. So, this morning, I thought I'd take a little time to check his website out. So far, I've looked at his issues page. These are some of the points that I thought were interesting.

POPSTwitterbox 0.4 Released Hopefully I'll actually be able to get this to work for me soon. I haven't in the past, because I couldn't change the script.

POPSTwitter vs. Jaiku So this blurb really doesn't talk about how Jaiku measures up to the multi-platform messaging that Twitter supports. I suppose I'll have to find more information about Jaiku. On the surface, because it can aggregate all of your feeds, it might make sense to recommend to my wife.

POPSTwitterment Twitterment seems to be a cool site that gives you something like a "term cloud" of twitter posts.

POPSThe disadvantages of 140 char limit Notice how you almost might interpret the quote as "the were going to hell." I guess the lack of a capital H hints at the word not really being Hell. But I'm just sayin'. :-)

POPSBlogs are dieing I totally agree with Carsten. I haven't been blogging as much. Not that what I say is very important. But honestly, blogging isn't all there is to being on the internet. Feeds are king - not blogs.

POPSTwitterBox Just what I was hoping for. I've only been into the SL metaverse twice now. The second time I went in there was to get the ClipMarks t-shirt. Now I can go in and try out the TwitterBox (and do other stuff, of course).
