POPSLast.fm reads Flickr tags for event photos I knew that Last.fm had event information and you could say whether you're attending an event or not. So, knowing that The Roots would be in town this weekend, I thought I'd check on the events in Last.fm for this weekend. Sure enough, one of their venues was listed. Then I was pleasantly surprised to see that I could get my Flickr photos (after posting them of course) to show up on their event page just by puttting the "lastfm:event=243720" tag on those photos. Seems like a good use of tag data to me!!! I can't wait to post photos. :-)

POPSGimme DVR for Twittervision and Flickrvision I haven't written a real blog post in a while. Today, however, I felt compelled to request DVR features for twittervision and flickrvision. Please help me bring this to Dave's attention and show support for the effort by either popping this clip or sending a trackback ping of your blog post to my original blog post or leave a comment on my blog post.

POPSNice water drop shot This is the first photo that came up on Flickr's Explore page for me this morning. Very nice. I just remembered, though, that last week Flickr released a new "Send to Friend" feature, so there kinda wasn't a need to clip this photo, but I already did, so here it is.

POPSHmmm... Maybe I should keep my porn on an USB drive... So I saw this little bit about Geek Squad on Ariel Waldman's blog. Okay, so all of my porn is already on an external USB drive so I don't have to worry about it, but in case you didn't know, here's a clip to make you consider what you leave on your hard drive before seeking professional help with your computer. :-)

POPSWrapped up kitties Yesterday, I found a cute photo on ericskiff's Flickr photo of a kitten warming up against a radiator pipe. He mentioned that it was his contribution to the lolcats phenomenon. I never heard of the lolcats phenomenon before, so I looked it up in Wikipedia. Eric had posted a link to the site which is the source for this clip, but it didn't work at the time. Browsing through my "Comments You've Made" feed, I found that Eric posted a response to me having informed him that the link didn't work. So I clicked the link and one of the first pics that I saw was this. It's just too funny and cute!

POPSTwitter vs. Jaiku So this blurb really doesn't talk about how Jaiku measures up to the multi-platform messaging that Twitter supports. I suppose I'll have to find more information about Jaiku. On the surface, because it can aggregate all of your feeds, it might make sense to recommend to my wife.

POPSIs John Edwards really on 43Things? I’m not so sure that this is authentic. I am pulling for John Edwards and I’m looking for him to do bigger things than what’s on that list. I think the concept of posting your campaign goals on 43things is a great idea, but only if it’s for real. I’d want to see some sort of valid authenticity of the user before I trusted that account. (I wonder if Identity 2.0 can help with that somehow. Perhaps there needs to be an Endorsement 2.0 or Approval 2.0 venture…)

POPSBlogs are dieing I totally agree with Carsten. I haven't been blogging as much. Not that what I say is very important. But honestly, blogging isn't all there is to being on the internet. Feeds are king - not blogs.

POPSUnexpected result when clipping a GoogleTrends graph This is a little unexpected issue. I originally clipped this graph from GoogleTrends and sent it to my blog. I had hoped my clip would also save to my clipper. It didn't. When I looked at my blog, the image didn't load. Instead, I got the "Image is being processed and will appear soon" message. I'm now clipping the image again and saving it to clipper to see if I get the same result. I hope Clipmarks pics the image up somehow. If not, I guess I'll have to save the image using SnagIt, post it to Flickr and then clip that...
