POPSAmericans and Nudity being dutch, my mama as well as my aunts have no shame. i've grown up seeing them naked about the house as though it was normal. my aunt monique is more than willing to show you her rack, even if you don't ask. the question here is - does everyone *want* to see us naked? probably not. i'm sure it depends. though, having little shame myself, i wouldn't mind being naked in my garden...

POPSWhy Are Americans Afraid of Being Naked? Not all Americans seem to be afraid of being naked. See http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/FB61BFCC-2C0B-40FA-A0DB-38449512EE0D/ :) See also: http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/CA5F01AE-20C4-406A-9483-775687B6BBAE/

POPSScientists Find a Second Code Hidden in DNA How cool is this? A secondary DNA meta-code has been discovered superimposed on top of the same "genetic code" whose transcription it influences! (Douglas Hofstadter would have had a field day with this!) Highly efficient from an information science point of view. There are so many wonders to be discovered within our very selves!

POPSNo gays on MySpace for a day This is pretty wierd. I can't imagine why they'd be having a technical difficulty with one particular sexual orientation. You'd think that the problem would be with the whole orientation selection rather than one particular selection. So is it more okay to be Bi/Lesbian rather than gay? Besides, shouldn't Straight be at the top of the list like sites put the United States at the top of the list? I mean, I hope to God that there are more straight people than gay. No offense to the gays meant... :-)

POPSYahoo Bookmarks Enters 21st Century. "Until today, Yahoo Bookmarks (which is a separate product from del.icio.us and My Web) stored only the URL, title and comment for a particular bookmark. The new product caches all text on the page, stores a thumbnail view, and allows both categorization (folders) and tagging of each bookmark."

POPSA brief history of blogging I know this isn't the whole history nor is it totally representative of all the milestones, but it is quite cool none-the-less. This particular post isn't all that interesting, but I thought the pic of the "History of Blogging" was pretty cool.

POPSThis is broken I was looking through TypePad's "culture" blog list and saw this. Looks like something I might want to come back to at some point.

POPSWrapped up kitties Yesterday, I found a cute photo on ericskiff's Flickr photo of a kitten warming up against a radiator pipe. He mentioned that it was his contribution to the lolcats phenomenon. I never heard of the lolcats phenomenon before, so I looked it up in Wikipedia. Eric had posted a link to the site which is the source for this clip, but it didn't work at the time. Browsing through my "Comments You've Made" feed, I found that Eric posted a response to me having informed him that the link didn't work. So I clicked the link and one of the first pics that I saw was this. It's just too funny and cute!

POPSHappy Ice Cream = jinx Found this on a new Twitter friend's blog. My wife and I play the jinx game all the time. I'm forwarding this clip to her as I think she'll think the story is cute, because she's interested in Japanese culture as well.
