About me
Hey, I'm just a normal guy - a jack of all trades type of guy. There is so much in this world that makes me just shake me head. I think people delude themselves quite a bit - buy into hysteria and live in fear. As a nation we've been indoctrinated since birth into believing things that simply are not true.

I hope to point out some inconsistencies in common misconceptions. In the very least, get people to at least THINK about what it is they believe rather than just accept it because its always what they've been told.
Why I use Clipmarks
I like clipmarks because it brings a very large variety of interesting topics up which I can browse through. If the clip interests me then I can read the source for more info.

It's good that this nut just killed himself - although he did put his wife through hell. I guess the saddest part is that this moron had internet access and was able to spread his madness to other religious idiots.

An HONEST Headline of water on the moon
Oortcloud
by Oortcloud  11-13-2009
Usually the news like to exaggerate a find and use headlines stating something as a fact when its merely a supposition. Now we know for a FACT. Water is on the moon. That is important in so many ways and knowledge that we can use.

The idiocy of claiming non belief is belief
Oortcloud
by Oortcloud  10-26-2009    1
This is a common argument presented by the two trolls willhelm and darkeforce. In their world up is down, down is up, and after smearing poop on their own face they point at other people and call them shitheads. It's a world of redefining terms to suit their needs, cherry picking the foundation of their religion (the bible) to shore up their beliefs, and a pathological need to project their own requirements of blind faith on other people. It's the only way they can level the playing field when they know what irrational nuts they sound like when trying to defend their claims. Their only recourse - an ad hominem false equivalency approach in order to appear equal.

Asteroid collision threat further downgraded
Oortcloud
by Oortcloud  10-7-2009    1
Some of you may have heard of the asteroid Apophis that is going to pass very close to the earth in 2029? The estimates were that Earth's gravity would nudge it enough that it would return a few years later and hit the Earth. Further orbital calculations have shown that the odds of this happening are even less likely than once thought.

An excellent blog by the Bad Astronomer who so easily reaches right to the heart of the matter and exposes the nutty fringe groups for the ridiculous things they say and do. Specifically liked this statement he made : "If I sound angry, then, yeah, I am. I’m tired of ignorance held up as inspiration, where vicious anti-intellectualism is considered a positive trait, and where uninformed opinion is displayed as fact." Much more level minded and common sense points in his article.

Indian girl faces total Christian ignorance
Oortcloud
by Oortcloud  8-13-2009    8
Video won't clip. Go to source to watch 2 complete Christian idiots berate a girl from India about her religion. 90% of the believers are as brainless as these two, believing what they are told and never questioning it. They spout their believer nonsense, never able to defend it without simply insisting it is true. 'Sarah' claims a Hindu belief and faces the gauntlet of believer ignorance from the carrot and stick threats of heaven and hell, Pascal's wager, and finally being told that she cannot associate as a friend unless she commits to being Christian. These 2 Christian twits cannot even fathom how an Indian girl can be considered Asian and insist her dark skin relegates her to African status, going so far as to call her a liar for denying she is not African. I'm almost thinking this is some kind of joke except Christians really are this arrogant in their beliefs. Definately a Poe's Law here if this turns out to be a spoof.

Anti-Vax mother sees the light
Oortcloud
by Oortcloud  5-7-2009    2
This is a story of a mother who's son contracted autism. She blamed vaccinations and got into bed with the likes of Jenny McCarthy. Then she did the research on her own rather than listening to the anti-vax overmind and concluded that vaccinations were not to blame and the terrible that the world is facing with this growing ignorance.
