POPSLessons from a rapper to Iraq I was listening to an internet radio neosoulcafe.com (which, by the way, internet radio is under threat). And I heard a song called "my block" by Tupac Shakur. While I was fairly familar with Tupac, I had a peep over on wikipedia and found this. Tupac was a clever and angry young man. His album Thug Life was kind of a clever acronym of sorts.... For some reason, it reminded me of the faces of the children I have seen in Iraq photos. The victims of war. And I am reminded of what we do, what we have done, may not be over when we pull the troops out from those countries we have invaded. A long stretch from thug rapper to iraq? maybe? maybe not. I went to

POPSTiger, Obama ... "They all look alike to me" I have clipped this video for myself. To remind me of how insidiously hateful people can be in the face of another's success. I am sick of this kind of behavior from Hillary and Bill and now the Republicans are doing it. Tiger Woods is not Obama. Obama is not Tiger Woods. They are not so irrelevant that they are exchangeable. Can't the Republicans think of anything intelligent to do in their remarks and introductions other than make "Freudian slips" (osama for obama) and tasteless comments like this? This is disgusting. And anyone who doesn't get it needs to go back to their High School history books and read a few chapters.

POPSThe Brits REALLY know how to live it up! This small country with a nation conquering history, has outdone itself again with an innovation that is sure to be echoed throughout the world. Ladies and Gentlemen ... I give you.... drumroll please... The Savory Ice Cream Cone. Don't push and shove to be the first in line.

POPSClinton found her voice and it's not pretty Negative campaigning, and baiting, here we come. We got just a taste of it when Team Billary spent Black History Month making well crafted cagey remarks. That was just the appetizer, here is the main course. Now they've put the muzzle on half the team and have amped up the hate rhetoric, taking a leaf out of the Republican handbook on how to win elections and influence people. F-E-A-R. I wonder if Obama remembers whitewater and learns how to use it in a sentence.

POPSBjork's cry for Tibet! While Bjork may not be to everyone's taste, you cannot fault her for following her own heart and soul. Her squawking style has always been unique. Here, she steps out even further by thumbing her nose at the oppressive chinese media and brings our attention to the struggles in Tibet in her own inimitable way.

POPSI have found this to be true ... even at my beloved Clipmarks I have stayed away from clipmarks from a while, in order to facilitate a more balanced life. I stopped visiting for awhile when I noticed some folks were taking my own opinions to be critiques of them almost personally. This scared me. It said to me that they and I were spending too much time here. Need some real world connection ... when we care more about our invisible friends than the person next door or next to you in the bookstore, it is time to check reality. We don't know each other on clipmarks we only know a portion of the person behind the keyboard. We know what they clip, not who they are.

POPSDo you care? Loss of Civil Liberties since 9/11 From website :: This is the History Commons project for the loss of US civil liberties under the current administration, and before. We are currently focusing on several topics, including the expansion of executive power (the “unitary executive”), the NSA’s domestic surveillance program, the use of “national security letters” to force information … It will take more than 200 years to get them back.

POPSIs it real or is it Photoshop? Some amazing photoshopped images. The scary part? Well, I just clipped the ones that "looked" like they could be real. Photoshop is a remarkable tool in the hands of skilled and creative people. But gawd, it could be also used to convince us of a reality that does not exist.

POPSThe Children of Iraq ... look what we have done to them and what for? How can even the most ardent conservative supporter of the war in iraq look at these photos and not take umbrage with that we are doing there. I would put the disclaimer that the photos towards the end of this piece are very gruesome, but we should see them so we have no illusions about what we are doing to these people. Saddam Hussein may have been an evil dictator, but when you see these photos, it is easy to see how we have replaced him tooth and nail in evil doing. We have successfully replaced regime for regime and these children are next in line to repay us for our suffering. It is a shame we have stripped so many beautiful children of their innocence and are sowing the seeds of hatred for their future. If you don't believe me, take the time to actually study the photos here, and think if this was happening on your own soil, how you would feel. Your resentment and anger would be theirs.

POPSDoes your body belong to you or the FBI ?? Did you ever see the movie Vanilla Sky with Tom Cruise? I think this is the right movie... the one where his eyeballs roll across a grimy floor. And his eyeballs are more important than a plastic ID card... they ARE his ID? Fantasy ... meet Reality

POPSA movie worth watching... Slingshothiphop.com www.slignshothiphop.com "I won't trade humanity for patriotism" See what people are doing to liberate themselves and bring a voice to the issues ... a voice a real voice, not the tainted mainstream media and crappy pseudo news.

POPSWatching this made me cry.... I don't know if this clip will come through or not but maybe i can find it on youtube and post again. but it is on the second page of Barak Obama's website. I lived abroad for a long time in Europe and came back to a broken country. I think Obama's leadership can heal us. He is not as inexperienced as the media want's us to think he is (consider that our current office holder never had a passport before office). It is time for America to be the America that it should be. Obama would bring the fresh wind of change we so desperately need.

POPSThere is no Gold in OIL... it's in the WATER! Mos Def wrote a song about this years ago, and I thought he was cracked. It started me thinking.... new world water... And damned if he wasn't on the money. Oil leading to Global Warming, leading to drought, leading to lack of water. Oil is killing us.

POPSAre the 3 little pigs racist? It must be April fools come early. It must be. I have watched the UK get political correctness wrong so many times before and this is another example of overkill. I want to know, am I wrong? Do any Muslims find the three little pigs racist and offensive? Please tell me.

POPSWhat I Do Well .. celebrate the small things Find joy in the big and the small. Wake up in the morning, or go to sleep at night and think of at least one thing you do well. Not better than any one, not what you want to improve. But the one thing you do well. NOW. in that moment. And celebrate it all day.

POPSAloha ... Find some joy and happiness This is my positive clip for the week. Hawaii is a very beautiful place to visit. I only wish I could absorb more of the "good vibes" emanating from this special place. I visited once, vow to go back and strive to walk in aloha on a daily basis. Here is an artist whom I play without fail at least once a month.
