About me
I believe that to question authority and debate issues shows a love for true democracy.

I believe that Global diversity should celebrate the fact that we are all from the same place--mother earth , yet we are all different --
When we learn to embrace the differences without fear, we will be free.

Same but different. Celebrate the differences.

I hope for a more sensible and tolerant society. I believe it is stronger and braver and harder to live for peace than fight in a war.

I believe that to question authority and debate issues shows a love for true democracy.
Why I use Clipmarks
Clipmarks is a great digest, a reflection of the changing world around us.

I use Clipmarks as a sketchbook to keep snippits of the rapidly changing world around me. Clipmarks is like an internet voice recorder, allowing me to keep track of the world, when I see something that interests me, and I clip it and quickly jot down my thoughts, however raw and unpolished they may be, my gut feelings... for later.

Clipmarks feels like internet photography because I have a snapshot of what was important to me at the time and what I might have felt about it.

I have learned a bit and I have been challenged and encouraged by the clips and clippers.

Visiting here is a great way to sum up the day/week.
I like the sense of immediacy, the change of content, and the community.

I also like the fact that you can integrate clipmarks into blogs and other web applications.

I also appreciate the opinions of others and the opportunity to immediately engage with clippers on the issues. I also enjoy the encouragement of fellow clippers and the respectful nature of most clippers when opinions collide.

CAUTION:: Clipmarks is very, very, very addictive.

Fear and Loathing ... your health is at stake.
NonStatQuo
by NonStatQuo  9-4-2009
Americans have not been governed by the Repbulicans or the Democrats since 9/11. We have been governed by irrational fear. And it is paralyzing us. We have GOT to realize that crippling health care costs are going to continue to escalate. We won't be able to pay China back and more jobs will be lost. Healthcare costs are related to the economy. Stop letting the politicians frighten us into throwing away our country.

A Positive Example suitable for Clipmarks Devotees
NonStatQuo
by NonStatQuo  8-28-2009
I have often used clipmarks as a sounding board, to flesh out my own premature ideas in the delightful cloak of semi-anonymity. Not everything that I say I fully mean. Some thoughts are sounding boards to my own opinions until I firm them up and watch them gel in my own head while my fingers are flying across the keyboard. In the beginning, I spent every day reading comments people left behind mine, opening them up like christmas presents. For awhile, I left clipmarks because the animosity became so acrimonious that I suffered indigestion along with the cup of coffee and cookie I was enjoying while I read CM in the late morning. I have enjoyed clipmarks and enjoy reading the clips from people I don't necessarily agree with as well as those of whom I do agree. I hope in the spirit of the late Ted Kennedy we can take his example of leadership and disagree without rancor and argue passionately with tolerance for an opposing view. Thank you for reading. Good Day.

We really, really need to make things...
NonStatQuo
by NonStatQuo  8-10-2009
How to bring the economy back? Why are there no jobs? Well because we stopped making things and then let China make all the things we used to make. Now China has our jobs. They belong to them now. And so does our debt. And so do we. We belong to China. So hey Republicans, hey Democrats, stop pretending to fight each other and wake up and smell the Starbucks. We lost and we don't even know it. Who is the enemy here? Our own greed and collective stupidity as a nation and we still are blind to the fact that we have lost our country while listening to birthers and other such nonsense. sigh.

....but bearing arms should not be a right. Reading this article even skimming it, the obvious truth just jumps out at you. More guns just do not make people safer. More guns brings more guns and death. Why is this so hard to fathom? Look at countries that do not have the right to bear arms willi-nilly. See their crime rate and safety. We are fast down the slippery slope and only picking up speed.

Never forget. Happy 4th of July!!!!
NonStatQuo
by NonStatQuo  7-1-2009
This 4th of July we have our freedom once again. Let us remember, Democrat and Republican, Christian, and Muslim, Gay, straight or in-between, how wonderful it is to be free, even when those freedoms are severely challenged and altered and hamstrung by the very ones who profess to love this great country. Faults and all, America is an amazing country, full of warm and generous people. Amazing landscapes and rich culture. The more we celebrate our triumphs and stop tearing each other apart, the better off each an every American will be. We all prosper when we build together. Happy 4th of July.

I had a really difficult weekend and my partner and I were full of tears over an exasperating situation. Today wasn't much better. I was going thru my RSS feeds and found a poem. I was curious. Found out about the author. Went to her website and found this. Take a few minutes to listen to the story and find yourself refreshed in a world where too few stories provide such sustenance.

No matter how much we argue with each other, insanely, stupidly, brilliantly, or forcefully, republican, democrat or indifferent, we should all remember what we have a precious gift. The right to protest, the right to our voices being heard. The human right to peaceful gathering and protest. I hope we all remember as Americans, as July 4th approaches, how beautiful that gift is, and also remember those who have given their lives in our country and all around the world for this basic human right.

NonStatQuo
by NonStatQuo  4-9-2009
There have been many reports by the BBC and other notable news sources that China was threatening and waging a new war with us, even while we are borrowing money from them, to buy the crap they put on our shelves at Wal-mart and Target, having taken away our manufacturing jobs to sell the crap to us. They use the money to make nice roads and rail systems for themselves while we bicker about it, and then... and then? And then they spend our billions on spying on us and breaking into our own computer network. This is not scaremongering but fact. Wake up people!

America now Owned by Communists
NonStatQuo
by NonStatQuo  3-9-2009    5
I think it is interesting that one of the biggest complaints some offered during the November Election, was among many things, if Obama was a communist. Yet this all was set on course by the previous administration, and by the banks and federal institutions in charge of Global trade way before Obama landed in office. It is very interesting to note, that China, the country that now and will own America (by owning the debt we have accumulated by BIG GREED) and is not interested in democracy of any kind. We have just fed the red beast the very heart of democracy and don't even understand it.

I’ll try to find you some and I’ll bring em to ya Do we really need another George Bush in the White house, even if this time, it's second in command? I never vote straight Dem or Rep.... I vote the competency of the leader, and my friends, I think every time I try to see both sides objectively, one side, keeps playing lowball games which lets down the American people who deserve better. Choosing a woman who is UNQUALIFIED WOMAN demeans competent REPUBLICAN WOMEN LEADERS as well as Women voters. Katherin Sibelius (sp) would have been a great choice as a competent, intelligent woman, for example. Don't you think McCain insults his Republican party by choosing someone less than the absolute best for his "beloved" country? This is shameful to ALL AMERICANS no matter what side of the fence you sit on.... they are hiding Palin from the media for a good reason. Sad.
