POPSRiches When one is rich, one thinks they are happy, but in truth their life is full of worry. What would happen if all of a sudden their wealth was gone, how would they survive? In truth, living a simple life is living a life without strife. Cougar

POPSOren R. Lyons, Spokesman, Traditional Circle of Elders Grandfather, Grandmother, bring the spirits to teach us. "Male and female is fundamental to life; partners in work to be done." We have lost our way in regards to this truth. Our culture taught us this simple wisdom, the destruction of our cultures has taken this away, we must return to our cultures to regain this knowledge and treat each other with the respect we have lost. POPSTraditional Circle of Elders, Navajo-Hopi Jount Use Area Before the white man came to Turtle Island the people of the land were all the same and respected each other, but white man believing he was superior never respected any of the people or the land, can you not see where that has lead us, we need to be one with the land again, only then will we survive. POPSPhil Lane, Sr. Yankton Sioux It only takes a little thing to change our whole perspective on our lives. It will take all of mankind to know this and then, just maybe, mankind might survive. Cougar

POPSOren Lyons, Onondaga "Power is not manifested in the human being. True power is in the Creator" This is something our present day leaders do not understand and this is why the world is in the condition it is today. Cougar

POPSEducation Even though this talks about the Cherokee people, this in fact speaks for all Aboriginal peoples, every where. In Canada the First Nation, Metis & Inuit peoples are not taught the same as in the outside world (white mans world) they are behind and kept that way by the governments who regulate education, they were & are never taught history because the Canadian Governments were and are scared to tell the truth about the Canadian history. This can possibly be said by all the governments around the world who suppress the Indigenous peoples of that country. Cougar

POPSEllen White, Nanaimo In these times I believe it is most difficult for most people to understand these words, and even more difficult to stand still long enough to know the meaning of them. Cougar

POPSMothers One sees more and more mothers abusing and killing their own children these days and for what? Some for greed, some for freedom, some for another life with someone else, the Courts give to much the idea of post part um depression while forgetting the children that are suffering and suffered from their hands. POPSOren Lyons, Onondaga In the times before the white man, the peoples of the Turtle Island lived in relative peace with each other, Natives had their own laws and they were followed by all, the teachers were the elders. I know that if this was sill the norm today we would all be living in peace and harmony. Cougar

POPSTimes Most individuals concentrate on the outside and never consider whats inside. Cougar

POPSWallace Black Elk, Lakota I only wish these words could be heard and read by all, maybe then we would see the wisdom of our Native ancestors. Cougar

POPSChief Joseph - Nez Perce This man was wise before his time. If the leaders of the so called free world would only look to the past to see the future, they would understand what has been said. But they are blind to greed, mis-trust and self importance. Cougar
