POPSReligion We all know of good and evil, the Indigenous Peoples believe in a Creator who placed us here to look after our mother the earth, so why is it that the others use religion for self gain or for destruction of other who do not believe in God, as they do? Puzzling? Not really, the Indigenous People believe we are here not for our selves, but for our children and their children, to care for Mother Earth, to live in harmony with all things and all peoples, we are still wondering what the others were put here for? POPSThink I grow increasingly worried about man and his thoughts! When reading or watching the world as it is today, we can see what man has on his mind and unfortunately it is not the good, but the evil in mans mind that is winning. We see the continual search for the better weapons in which to kill each other, the growing hunger and killing of our children, the continuing raping of Mother Earth, with no respite in the future. We must look to our Grandfathers for guidance, however for the People of the Earth and I speak of the Indigenous Peoples who at one time lived and breathed the life of Mother Earth, it will be easier, not so for the others who live for greed with every waking breath. The destruction of man will come from within, so pray to the Great Spirit that the others will come to respect and seek the guidance of our Earth Mother and that of the People of the Earth, before it is to late. POPSLove the Soil For me there is nothing more pleasing, then to be with nature, to lay under a tree, feel the earth, moss under me and the sun on my face, to relax and enjoy life this way. Cougar

POPSEarth Spirit Look around you, can you not see it? The Earth Spirit is speaking to all of mankind, warning us not to continue to rape the earth. Since the beginning of mankind, he has sought to make life easier for him to live a lazy life. The Aboriginal have been forced to live this way also, but many have cried and now wish to return to the ways before the colonists came. They have raped and pillaged to the point where the return is almost pointless, but we must strive for unity, if we are to prevail in our efforts to return the earth to what it was. We may be to slow, as the Earth Spirit, speaks to us on an almost daily bases now, telling us if we don not stop, she will stop us her self, and heal what we have destroyed. Cougar

POPSHaida Gwaii, Traditional Circle of Elders Great Spirit, let me accept and see all things as equals. "People are equal partners with the plants and animals, not their masters who exploit them." The Great Spirit has placed everything on earth that man, animal and plants would ever need to survive, it is only man that takes more than he needs, most time giving nothing back to the earth. The animals and plants have been exploited by man for hundreds of years, I would say thousands, but that would be inaccurate. The white man has corrupted and devastated the First Peoples of this world so much in the past (600) six hundred years, that even the majority of them have lost their understanding of this world. We as human beings must reach out to our Elders and regain the knowledge and understanding our ancestors had towards this world, as caretakers, not destroyers. Cougar

POPSPhillip Deere, Muskogee-Creek "Life, the circle, a measurement with no beginning and no end." We need to get back to nature to truly understand what Phillip Deere has said, respecting everything including the very rocks beneath your feet. A Native can understand this, but a white man never will until they learn to respect one another, for if they cannot respect one another, how do we expect them to respect the earth? Cougar

POPSOren Lyons, Onondaga Ever since man came about on the earth, man has always changed things, even if it is one small thing, the effect is like a ripple in a pond it just keeps going causing changes. Today man has changed the world so much that if he doesn't stop there will be nothing left for our children except ruin. Cougar

POPSOren Lyons, Onondaga "In the absence of the sacred, nothing is sacred -- everything is for sale." The world today is so much dependent on money that it is hard for some people to exist, let alone live, however all things sacred should be just that sacred not matter your situation. Cougar

POPSEdmund Ladd, Zuni Pubeblo Many Native Language's are lost, some are about to be lost, it is very true that we must hold on to our languages to preserve our culture, without our languages, we have no culture's. My ansestors language is almost gone, the Bungee Language, spoken by the Cree-Scott, Metis. Michif spoken by the Cree-French is another. It is to bad that we no longer take pride in our culture's.
