POPSBe a Peacemaker I'm going to be sick this 4th of July. Liberty to commit such atrocities is not liberty, but a means of storing up wrath for our children. What we do will be done to us; don't think we can break that rule. Be a peacemaker and peace will follow. War is not the best way to fight terrorism; it is the worst way. Terrorists will never provide a central, controlling structure of command, with legal authority to negotiate a cessation of hostilities and impose upon its own fighters the terms of any such arrangement. We'll never know when we have won! There are better more effective ways at dealing with terrorism. Help stop the war/occupation.

There will be a purging and cleansing before the great and glorious day they boast about. If Jesus' treatment of the Pharisees is any indication of what is to come, then they will be the ones being purged and cleansed and "left behind". Repent!

POPSThomas Jefferson on Morality in Government Administration Thomas also has another good quote (at the site) on what religions have in common that benefit us all. When the church loses sight of its uniqueness as an institution we all suffer for it. The church needs to see itself and the state as two separate God created institutions with two separate roles. They are interdependent, but separate entities. When they do what they were made to do the world receives a blessing. When they don't - we have what is happening today in the world.

POPSFor Republicans Only; Everyone Else Keep Informing Others Here is an example to follow. Republicans say what many Christians want to hear. In addition, because they say they are Christians many believe them and faithfully but blindly support them. Eventually, they find out how immoral they are. At this point their moral principles are tested. They either suppress their conscience (very easy to do) or they speak out (very hard to do). When they speak out, they lose their friends, but that is only the beginning. If they continue to speak out they put their life in danger. Nonetheless, this is the path Connell chose to take. It is the very path Christ took. Christians either need to deny Christ or take on the challenge presented by Him. John 18:37 ...“For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." If they would do what Connell did, the Republican Party would reform.

POPSThomas Jefferson on Moral Principles I like this summary given by the author of this site for a very important reason. He defines what “morality” Jefferson will be speaking of here. He will not be speaking of morality in general terms (like the Bible speaks of morality) but in specific terms as it relates to government. Understanding this is important and often overlooked by my Christian brethren. Like Pharisees they would have God’s law in government to establish righteousness, which contradicts the teaching of the New Testament. What they would like to promote they prohibit by this dangerous misunderstanding. They corrupt both church and state with their good intentions. Consequently, like Pharisees, they are a very hard group to reach with the truth.
