POPSIs It Wrong to Correct Someone's Grammar? My kids and grands get so angry at me when I correct them ... but like the article says, "As standards decline, civilization declines." Maybe this makes me a stickler, or a prude ... but this is the way I operate. I can speak slang and I keep up with the meanings of all the new youth and tech lingo. That doesn't mean I have to say (this on top of my list of phrases that make me cringe), "I'm done!"

POPSIf You Really Want To Touch Someone ... This photo goes great with my "Johnny Can't Write" clip. The caption with the photo says it all ... "If you really want to touch someone, send them a letter." Being a poet and writer, I have always understood the importance of writing it down and the written word. The written language is an art. You can touch (as in making their day) someone by writing your feeling for that person down and giving it to them. Wrap some warm words around someone you love!

POPSJohhny Can't Write Have you looked at any young person's handwriting lately? I can barely read my 9 year old grandson's printing, and he is to start learning cursive this year. I doubt that this will be legible either. My great-uncle Lawrence had the most beautiful handwriting. It was all swirls and curls in beautifully, carefully written words. This has become a thing of the past. Too Bad!
