POPSThe Information & Technology Singularity I saw this author interviewed. There is so much information and technology, doubling exponentially at an increasingly faster rate, that in the very near future we will be unable to handle or keep up with it without AI. The author says it best: "To express this another way, we won’t experience one hundred years of technological advance in the 21st century; we will witness on the order of 20,000 years of progress (again, when measured by the rate of progress in 2000), or about 1,000 times greater than what was achieved in the 20th century."

POPSYouTube Search Gets the Wonder Wheel Is this just a new gimmick? Will it last? Several complaints say it takes up too much space on the page. Cross referencing and comparing is good ... is there a better way?

POPS66 Year Old to Become Britian's Oldest Mum I had my last child (2nd marriage, mid-life baby) at age 40. I can comment with authority on this one. I agree with the professor in the article ... "I am shocked by the idea of a 66-year-old woman giving birth."

POPSKFC Chicken Riots '09 - No Free Lunch? I received an email from my sone with the link to print this coupon. This new info is a good thing to know if you are holding one of these coupons, like I am. I Want My KFC!

POPSGoogle Hires Goats to Mow the Grass The White House and Central Park have employed goats to mow the grass ... why not Google! Great eco-friendly way to do the job. Costs the same as Gasoline lawnmowers, but no carbon emissions. Kudos Google!

POPSWhy Email Needs to Change I agree. Email is just a record of my online activity. It is also a way for my family to share things (outside of Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and all the other ways and places I'm scattered across the web. I'll be looking for these types of changes in the near future.

POPSNo Law Suits, Please! The new rage on facebook is to design a random album cover with the provided formula. The problem is you don't want to use the random photo generator on the main Flickr page, as these photos are usually copyrighted. This page is the better alternative for that function with photos that are licensed (Creative Commons) for use.

POPSDeaths of gamers leave their online lives in limbo This actually sounds like a great idea. I have kept a book with all my online ID's and Passwords. It really came in handy recently when a virus cleaned out all of my documents and photos folders on my computer. I had several of my ID's and Passwords in a folder .. fortunately not complete passwords. just hints I would know. My youngest daughter knows most of my ID's and passwords ... but not all of them. I think I'll look into one of these ... and the USB drive thing sounded like a good idea too.

POPSIt’s daylight science time again I remember taking my kids and grand to the school bus stop in the dark after the switch. It's great having more light in the evening. I don't like driving in the evening or at night, so I can stay out and do more without having to worry about rushing home when everyone is going home from work.

POPSIs It Wrong to Correct Someone's Grammar? My kids and grands get so angry at me when I correct them ... but like the article says, "As standards decline, civilization declines." Maybe this makes me a stickler, or a prude ... but this is the way I operate. I can speak slang and I keep up with the meanings of all the new youth and tech lingo. That doesn't mean I have to say (this on top of my list of phrases that make me cringe), "I'm done!"

POPSThe Aquarian alignment 14th February 2009 Are you ready for the dawn of the Age of Aquarius? As a member of the aging "hippie" generation, I am excited. I have been watching the Moon and Jupiter (just at sunset) getting closer each night for the past week. This sort of goes along with all the other history changing events that have happened so far this year. This has to be a good sign ... Yes?

POPS$25 billion in electric vehicle loans still waiting Don't even get me started in politics and the current economy! This sounds like Murphy's Law in action. The taxpayers pay, the government gives it away! The only saving grace is that this (electric autos) will eventually (way down the road) save us money and help the environment!?

POPSNature Vs. Nurture Begins in Womb I have seen this come true in y own children and grandchildren. I have a grandson who is extremely aggressive and combative, and his mother smoked during her pregnancy. My son, on the other hand, is just the opposite, and I have never smoked. I wonder if these results hold true for those of us that have had to suffer under second hand smoke most of our lives.
