POPSWhy doing nothing may sometimes be the best action of all
By taking action — even if it’s neither rational nor likely to be successful — they can at least be seen to have done something. If they stand and wait until the ball is kicked and then fail to stop it, they feel worse because of their inaction; and others are far more likely to criticize them for not appearing even to try. It’s better to try a poor action than try a better — but seemingly passive — response if both fail; even though the “inactive” response is more rational and based on a better likelihood of success. In today’s business world, action is preferred over the alternatives and is more likely to result in forgiveness when a mistake is made. You can always say that you tried. The person who does nothing is doubly damned: once for the mistake and again for not “doing something.”This urge to action — to get things done — is more emotional than rational. “Wait and see” risks your credibility and reputation, even where it can be shown to be the optimal course.

POPSWorld's Largest Carpet Woven for Worshippers By any measure, it's a marvel—as a work of art, as an article of devotion, as a testament to the richness of hand-made craftwork. But who's going to take it outside and beat it? Long known for its delicate and ornate Persian rugs, Iran has recently been losing market share to cheaper Asian manufacturers, according to industry reports

POPSWords that lead to a head butt of Zidane I clipped this mostly because of the comment made by the French coach. How can he compliment Materazzi for behaving like such an ass!? Is this what we want kids to learn from their idols? That you should do whatever you have to do to win the game, even if it means saying such horrible things to someone. I hope not. Adults really need to start acting in a way that sets a better example for kids.

POPSI now have foriegn experience similar to Palin's
So, in order to get a grasp of Sarah Palin’s impressive foreign policy experience, particularly her unique perspective on Russia, I decided to visit Google Images and take a look at some pictures of Russia. Incredible how seeing what a place looks like from afar can enhance your understanding of their strategic place in the world and prepare you to deal with them in international affairs. Honestly, after taking a hard look at these pictures, and realizing that Sarah Palin has actually seen Russia from miles away with her own eyes, I feel entirely confident that she has the proper experience and expertise necessary to be President. In fact, I’m thinking that Russia must be shaking in their boots at the prospects of someone with such a unique perspective on their landscape being in the White House. You know what, this has me thinking that maybe i could be President. I’ve started a business, I take my daughter to soccer practice (I guess that would make me a soccer dude) and I

POPSSunday School 4 Atheists "It's important for kids not to look weird," says Peter Bishop, who leads the preteen class at the Humanist center in Palo Alto. Others say the weekly instruction supports their position that it's O.K. to not believe in God and gives them a place to reinforce the morals and values they want their children to have."

POPSBirds - Indian Mynahs "From time to time I am asked (in what capacity I am never sure) how to humanely get rid of Indian mynahs. This alien species is slowly invading South Africa's eastern side. Town after town is falling to these raucous, aggressive birds that behave like Liverpool soccer fans. The first mynahs in South Africa were released in Durban in the 1890s from the top of a bus. A sailor had captured them in India and had tried in vain to sell them. They have since multiplied with biblical enthusiasm."

POPSBeing labeled as 'Gifted' Undermine Personal Growth? I was quite a timid and shy boy,and later on for that I got called 'gifted' just because of the fact that I was concentrating on homework when other kids were doing what a 'normal' kid should do,that is playing outside. Now several years later just a few days ago I found myself still being called 'gifted' by my high school philosophy teacher, which could have possibly--according to this theory--resulted in my miserable failure today at the monthly tests, and I would say that the praise did do something to my ego which just arrogantly let the classes and real learning slip through. We made fun though,of me,saying things like I failed 'cause I was too talented by the dumb test standard,or 'being illogical is a sign of superb genius' etc. I gotta change my attitude, huh?

POPSIsrael's NAZI Kingmaker: Russian, Israeli, French, Canadian, Angolan.
He travels on an Angolan diplomatic passport to avoid arrest. His Jerusalem soccer team has a notoriously racist, anti-Arab fan base. Chant of "Death to Arabs" are regular. He has said, "Any politician that I will support will be the prime minister." Yet a Knesset committee has openly took issue with his actions during the war, accusing him of acting entirely for political reasons. To his supporters, he is simply the natural result of an Israeli establishment that is so wrapped up in corruption and cronyism that it is unable to care for its citizens. One important opponent said, "There is a sense among some people," he said, "that democracy just didn't work for us, and we should be like the rest of the Middle East -- that we tried democracy and failed. He's an oligarch. Don't forget that a lot of his supporters are Russians. They're not familiar with democracy." Handling of Moscow News is widely viewed as hostile to free speech and raised questions about his ties to Russia.
