POPSHow Myth Endures This refers to urban legends (more specifically the mistaken belief that humans only use 10% of their brains), but it seems to me that it applies much more widely, especially in matters of religious faith, religious conversion (muslims converting to Christianity, for example), etc.

POPSTattoos Gone Wrong! Oh dear… In line with various sites which display gross incompetencies in Hebrew tattoos, I found this picture of a woman with the Arabic word for family tattooed on her neck… But written left–to–right instead of right–to–left! Oopsie…

POPSZoroastrianism & Islam This made me sit up and take notice. One of the more hellish Islamic tales that did the rounds while I grew up featured the person having to cross a razor–sharp bridge. Of course, a true mu’min (believer) would cross it safely. The kafir would plunge to their doom into eternal Hell. Now I see it, like quite a few elements, could possibly come from Zoroastrianism. I must look into this further…

POPSAgainst Religion: AC Grayling contributes a simple and well–written but deep (as usual) article, this one at last speaking out against the claim that any particular religion merits special attention or privileges. Highlights:

POPSLycanthropic Occupation I haven’t found that phrase through Googlesearch anywhere, and I wanted it to appear online. So I had to resort to desperate measures.

POPSJihad and Religious Tolerance I have discovered a wonderful site, a website called Religious Tolerance, and I happed upon it by accident while looking for interpretations of and commentary on the book of Vayyiqra (Leviticus). It had an extremely thorough exposition of the section regarding homosexuality. Then I saw its studies on Islam, and this remarkably open–minded explanation of Jihad . I have bookmarked the site now.

POPSSetting The Record Straight Over at Creation Versus Evolution forum. An indepth discussion of the barbarity of early(–ish) Christianity, something a lot of people skimp over in their haste to denounce Islam.

POPSOpposing Force Speedrun I prefer this even to Spider–Waffle’s speedrun of Half–Life. Go to the site, watch this, and feel amazed at the mindblowing skills displayed therein…

POPS“Muslims proud to be British” Interesting. A recent Gallup poll has shown that muslims in London feel far more integrated than a lot of the ‘native’ population! Done, unfortunately, on a rather small cross–section of the population, nonetheless it shows great hope — and definitely smashes a lot of the talk on muslims unwilling to integrate with Britain…

POPSSpeedrunning Life An old advert for the ×bo× that I remember. It ended up banned because it must have disturbed ½–a dozen prudes or something. The ultimate way to speedrun life, haha.
