Dezember den Friedensnobelpreis entgegen. Auf die Laudatio darf man spätestens seit gestern gespannt sein. Denn seit seiner Ankündigung in der Militärakademie West Point, 30.000 zusätzliche Soldaten in den Kampf nach Afghanistan zu schicken, ist dieser Krieg sein Krieg. Für das Gegenteil von Frieden einen Friedensnobelpreis? Wie wird man in Oslo reagieren? Wird Obama diese Auszeichnung noch annehmen (können)?

POPSBecoming too reliant and emotionally attached to your personal computer RAM (Random Access Memory) is an animation about becoming too reliant and emotionally attached to your personal computer. It is an exaggeration of my research on recent trends of dependency and attachment found in children for their PCs, especially in the US and UK. The animation centres on the interaction between two boys, Mark and Tylr, while the technical focus of the piece is on animation, particularly facial animation. The style of the piece is based on Japanese anime, which has already been used for many technological and sci-fi series, and is born from a country famous for its technophilia and tendency to use technology for fun and companionship. The voice actors I used were children I overheard at a comic book store, and while most of the dialogue is scripted, I also made use of excess recordings that were just too lol to not use. Enjoy! Diese selbstverständliche Existenz trifft dann auch auf jedes authentische Werk in seiner singulären Erscheinung als sicher hoffnungslose Äußerung oder Ausdruck einer individuellen Person zu, nur der eigentliche Zusammenhang ergibt sich dann eben nicht zwangsläufig aus einer klar definierten Motivreihe oder Serie, sondern aus einem weiter gespannten individuellen künstlerischen Ansatz, der sein Vokabular aus einem nicht immer vordergründig zu interpretierendem Gesamtkomplex schöpft. Und vielleicht ist es ja die immer währende Suche nach den gepackten Koffern, dem roten Plastikboot, dem lachenden Mädchen oder den Kiefern unter dem blauen Sommerhimmel. They cannot distinguish between military targets and civilians. Many submunitions fail to detonate on impact and, like landmines, continue to kill and maim people long after the conflict has ended. The good The global campaign to eradicate cluster bombs, spearheaded by the Cluster Munitions Coalition, reached a major breakthrough in 2008 when governments negotiated an international treaty to ban them. So far, 103 countries have joined the Convention on Cluster Munitions, including the UK. The bad Although the UK government has signed the ban and stopped production of cluster bombs, UK banks still invest in cluster bomb producers in countries that have not yet outlawed them. A ban simply can’t be effective if there is still funding for the production of these weapons.

When the vipers saw the trouble that they were in, with sweet words they asked the hedgehogs to leave, since the place was too cramped for so many inhabitants.
