About me
I’m a 33 year old mother of four. I’m an artist, an amateur photographer, a bit of a web designer, a writer and so much more. I don’t believe in laying back and letting life happen to you and I never want to say that I didn’t try everything I ever wanted to do.

As a child I dreamed of being the pretty grrl that everyone talked about but I also wanted to be real. Sadly I was the geek that got hit in the face with the ice balls. No more. I am finally me and proud to be just that.

Blogging and showcasing my works on my own website is therapeutic for me. No secrets. Nothing to hide. Being so visible on the web gives me a chance at true freedom and it is my hope that in baring myself, my soul - I can help others who may feel or may have felt lost, scared, depressed or even just “different”.

Different is beautiful.
Different is special.
Different is real.

I talk to everyone and I adore people in general - the good, the bad and the ugly. I have a severe chronic illness that has almost killed me three times so far but I’m a survivor and I’m still standing. I’m going to reach for the moon babies and even if I never get to touch it - I still won because I had the courage to try.

I am friend, sister, mother, lover, wife and above all I am:
“SURVIVOR”
Why I use Clipmarks
I love to hunt out interesting articles and I'm a news junkie. I also have very strong opinions and though I won't judge you for yours - I also will not change mine to placate you.

Missing Ottawa couple found in Oshawa
JeannieGrrl
by JeannieGrrl  1-22-2009
I am NOT making this statement because of their age group, I think that anyone who would disappear and leave their family to fear the worst has to be either an irresponsible thoughtless jerk or a high/drunk idiot. I'd say that if they were forty five. I'd say it if they were sixty.

"No God" bus ads banned in Italian city

Odd this, buses have been allowed to go running ads that say things like "God is watching" and more, why not a voice from the other side? Christianity is not a requirement for having rights and freedoms.

Cadet Choice Award Nominees Announced
JeannieGrrl
by JeannieGrrl  1-17-2009
I can almost promise that the closest votes will be for Tom Cruise or Daniel Craig, not for what the roles actually were but because the cadets almost always pick military roles or as close as they can even if other roles would better suit the criteria. And Bale's "Wayne" really wasn't much of a role per say - Wayne was barely even visible in the bigger scheme. Myself, out of those choices, not having seen most of the films, I would have to pick Harrison Ford. Just from the clips and trailers and reviews anyhow...

How Can World Of Warcraft Help Train Your Employees?
JeannieGrrl
by JeannieGrrl  1-16-2009
I agree that the skills learned can help in real world situations but as the author said - they can be culled from just about any RPG. When you take a game like WoW which is so demanding and time consuming - if you can get the players to log out for a few hours - they may even get jobs so they can use their new skills.

Court to hear case of teen strip-searched for ibuprofen
JeannieGrrl
by JeannieGrrl  1-16-2009    3
I have NO words for this mess. I have teenage children, if I give them OTC pain meds - they have proper instructions for taking them and there is a note sent to the teachers. If the school said she couldn't have them and I felt that she needed them then I would keep her home until she was better, if they stripped her? Heads would roll.

Drug-raided homes visibly labelled by eastern Ont. police

By all means place a sign if drugs are found in the home thats been searched but just putting up a sign because its been searched? Man the kids in my old 'hood would have had a ball with that! Imagine the number of people we'd have had searched just to embarass them? A couple of phone calls is all it would take...

Using Taser on N.W.T. mother wasn't excessive: RCMP
JeannieGrrl
by JeannieGrrl  1-15-2009
So I wonder - how were the children affected seeing their mother tased like that? Aren't the police and child protection supposed to take that sort of thing into account? Couldn't they have spent a little more time "talking her down"? They do it for druggies and real criminals, why not a frightened mother sitting in her home? Were the children in any danger AT THE MOMENT? I wonder... Also - Child Protection is NOT always right. I'm not saying she was innocent but there is the possibility, many people have been falsely accused and have had their children removed by force because they knew they did nothing wrong and they tried to fight the cops.
