POPSSmile on the face of the tiger - John Pilger The day after Baby Zu’rob died in Gaza, President Barack Obama made his “historic” speech in Cairo, “reaching out to the Muslim world”, reported the BBC. “Just as it devastates Palestinian families, the continuing humanitarian crisis in Gaza,” said Obama, “does not serve Israel’s security.” That was all. The killing of 1,300 people in what is now a concentration camp merited 17 words, cast as concern for the “security” of the killers. This was understandable. During the January massacre, Seymour Hersh reported that “the Obama team let it be known that it would not object to the planned resupply of ‘smart bombs’ and other hi-tech ordnance that was already flowing to Israel” for use in Gaza.

POPSProtest over BBC Gaza appeal veto "The BBC should be ashamed for its coverage of the Israeli aggression which failed to address the catastrophic suffering on the Palestinian side, and now it's concerned about its impartiality. Never was the BBC impartial throughout this crisis". The news on the ABC was also heavily biased. Send a message to these b!*x*s and let them know what we think of their so called impartiality.

POPSGaza villages Wiped off the map The parallels between Jack Olsen's book (Silence on Monte Sole) - an account of the annihilation of Italian villagers on Monte Sole at the end of WWII - and Israels attack on Gaza is chilling. In Monte Sole the Nazi's justified collective punishment against the inhabitants of Monte because of the activity of local partisans. They herded women, children, the elderly and sick into houses and shot and bombed them. They installed snipers to shoot anyone who tried to escape the massacre. They destroyed food and water supplies. This movie shows that the same tactics were used on the people of Gaza. Israel should be tried for war crimes.

POPSIsrael Admits Troops May Have Used White Phosphorus Shells
The team ... visited the Shifa hospital, Gaza's main hospital, where they spoke to medical staff about the challenges of dealing with phosphorus burns and other injuries. The head of the burns unit told the team that at first, they had not known that they were dealing with injuries caused by white phosphorus. He described unusual orange burns which would become deeper with an offensive odour. After several hours smoke would start coming from the wound. "We had a child of three years with a head injury. After three hours we changed the dressing and saw smoke coming out of the wound. We opened the wound and brought out this wedge. We had not seen it before. Later on, some colleagues, doctors from Egypt and Norway, were able to enter Gaza and told us that this was white phosphorus," said the doctor "We noticed various things about this: the burn does not heal; the phosphorus may remain inside the body and goes on burning there, and the general condition of the patient deter

POPS Five sisters killed in Gaza while they slept Israel expects us to swallow its lame duck excuse that their attack on Gaza is justified because they are protecting Israel from home made rockets. Of course their real objective is to terrorise and demoralise the Palestinian people by beheading their democratically elected government. The Israeli government wants a compliant submissive Palestinian people who accept the Israeli occupation. Lets hope that Pakistan doesn't use the same justification to attack the US in retaliation for the bombing of its borders in June 2008 when US warplanes killed innocent civilians, including children.

POPSTo be in Gaza is to be trapped The bombing has started...so why isn't it on the news? This is heartbreaking news and I feel greatly for the people of Gaza. I'm not a violent person, and I don't advocate violence as a means to an end, but I can see people in such a desperate situation use their bodies as human bombs. I hate to say this, but in that situation - suffering at the hands of Nazis (sorry Israeli government) I would not hesitate.
