POPSObama & Health Care Can he really change it? Seems like a little bit, yes, maybe.. Or is it just politics as usual?

POPSHope What a dumb *** Rush is. Hoping the President fails is akin to hoping the USA fails. Wow, what a patriot.

POPSCar Wars: Return of the Japanese What if, just a crazy if, that the folks over at Toyota aren't concerned about the American public learning about their supporting lower standards b/c they think the public isn't actually paying attention. Which might be more correct than the public would admit, or if they were paying attention even understand. And add to this notion that if no one paying attention and the standards are lowered and the public has to pay more for gas, and on top of the environmental, political, infrastructure, etc., on and on issues and problems this county has, all this bankrupts and rots the US from the inside out. Japan wins.

POPSNo mere whale tale No longer a figment of science fiction imagination, that is Star Trek and the Voyage Home movie which centered around time travel and bringing a humpback whale from the 20th century to the future to save mankind, but reality and now proven with science that these whales are smart. Maybe they have already communicated with outer space.... "thanks for all the fish"?

POPSThe South and the GOP, again...... I'm not the only one who is concerned. My earlier clip about Nascar, the South and the GOP fits nicely, sadly, into this train of thought. I agree that the South can have at it, alone. Would be kinda weird to have to carry a passport to head "south of the border" - don't think Pepe will be pleased.

POPSNascar, GOP, and the South Almost too risky to comment on, and certainly the whole thing is shameful. Sadly, the South will never rise again with this kind of pathetic thing going on still. Translate this to the political arena and it's interesting to see that a good portion of the base of the Republican party comes from these states....... Scary.

POPSGo Terps! Yeah! Go MD football. Even better that the Terps beat Clemson to get into the rankings this year. Always very satisfying to beat the Tigers.

POPSHurts Truth A curiously remarkable thing would be to be at the bedside of D Cheney and/or D Rumsfeld as they are dying. To see whether they ask forgiveness for all the havoc they reigned down upon the world with the lies they fomented and the inner circle of folks with which they traveled.

POPSNew Record! Too bad this isn't the kind of record that is wanted. Global warming, fish depletion, toxic rain, fast food nation/countries, terrorism, Enron (who's next?), Darfur, tsunamis.............. I'm gonna go have a cocktail and worry about this tomorrow.

POPSbad, bad I.N.T.E.L.L.I.G.E.N.C.E. I call this the Mentality Box, or the Collective Mentality Box and thinking outside of the Box. What Box are you in? Or are you out there thinking? The time has come to stop thinking the military is the solution - there should be no problem getting troops on the ground with a 300,000,000 population but apparently there is. Peace is too scary - the politicians know no other way but war. Thanks to Team America!

POPSNo Water How stupid is it that perfectly good bottles of fresh water are getting tossed? What a waste of resources. I hope some day we're not digging up landfills to find these bottles because we need them.

POPSIf it was ever right, it's wrong now Probably one of the best Frank Rich articles in a while. There are too many horrible parallels with what was wrong with politics back in the early 70s and how the Republicans are always the ones bolstering defense and subsequently it seems, sadly, war. Democrats have no specific counter, more sadly. Whatever happened to being nice and the Golden Rule?

POPSStrategy "Hope is not a Strategy" once said by a golf instructor, but sadly quite useful in this situation.
