About me
Retired from medical field. 3 children, grown with their own families. I play golf ,do the beach, pool, movies, theater, friends and scrap booking using the computer. I listen to talk radio and watch Fox news and keep up with current political events which will probably drive me insane.
Why I use Clipmarks
My son just introduced me to foxfire and I had been using a Google clipper to save things I read that interested me. I printed them out. Clipmarks enables me to keep these articles easy to find. Love it. Saving on ink and piles of paper, also I have now found people who think like I do.

And the Winner Is . . . Peggy the Moocher
merrie
by merrie  11-5-2008    3
On Election Day, the federal government quietly reported that it will borrow a record $550 billion in the current quarter to fund the bipartisan bailout. The Treasury Department plans to borrow more than a half-trillion dollars in the current October-December quarter and another $368 billion in the first three months of next year. Estimated total for the whole year: $1.4 trillion. Democrats plan to add another $500 billion in “stimulus”-palooza legislation. Credit card companies, utilities, insurance companies, and car-loan and student-loan debtors await their turn. Peggy the Moocher shows there are still basically two starkly contrasting views of government in this country among the rank-and-file electorate. Unlike Joe the Plumber, Peggy sees government as her salvation and the president as her subsidizer-in-chief. She voted with the expectation that the Spreader of Wealth will reward her with payback. Joe just wants Washington to leave him alone to fend for himself.

Ex-Muslim Tells Pope Islam Is The Religion Of War

the general interest of Christianity and of Western civilization itself” that the Pope make a pronouncement in “a clear and binding way” on the question of whether Islam is a valid religion. The Catholic Church’s dialogue with Islam is based on the Second Vatican Council’s Declaration on the Relationship of the Church to Non-Christian Religions (”Nostra Aetate”), which urged esteem for Muslims because “they adore the one God,” strive to follow his will, recognize Jesus as a prophet, honor his mother, Mary, “value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting.” The council called on Catholics and Muslims “to work sincerely for mutual understanding” and for social justice, moral values, peace and freedom. Allam told Pope Benedict he specifically objected to Cardinal Tauran telling a conference in August that Islam itself promotes peace but that “’some believers’ have ‘betrayed their faith,’” using it as a pretext for violence.

The Obama Temptation
dl211
by dl211  10-27-2008    2
There is a cult-like atmosphere around Barack Obama, which his campaign has carefully and successfully fabricated, which concerns me. The messiah complex. Fainting audience members at rallies. Special Obama flags and an Obama presidential seal. A graphic with the portrayal of the globe and Obama's name on it, which adorns everything from Obama's plane to his street literature. Young school children singing songs praising Obama. Teenagers wearing camouflage outfits and marching in military order chanting Obama's name and the professions he is going to open to them. An Obama world tour, culminating in a speech in Berlin where Obama proclaims we are all citizens of the world. I dare say, this is ominous stuff.

Good Friend Of Ann Durham's Father, Stanley

Months back the MSM and the talking heads on the left challenged Sen. John McCain’s as a ‘natural born citizen’ and Constitutional qualification/ability to run for POTUS because he was born to his mother and his ABSOLUTELY, UNDENIABLY, KNOWN FATHER on a Naval Base in Panama Canal Zone … It was thoroughly investigated and THEN the Senate decides “Yeah, he’s cool … he can run”. This man who had a career as a Navy pilot and spent 6 years of his life as a POW in service to this country. This man who spent his adult life in service to this country … questioned on his citizenship and eligibility to run for POTUS.

The mainstream media is obviously in the tank for Obama, so they clearly are not going to touch this with a ten foot pole. Check out the link and the links within. http://selfishrhino.blogtownhall.com/2008/10/24/obama_constitutionally_ineligible_to_be_president.thtml

http://www.ldsmag.com/ideas/081017light.html I don't get the paper anymore here because of their left leaning bias and I've told them why. The only way we can make the msm behave in a responsible way is to hit them in the pocketbook. They have a DUTY to be unbiased and they are shirking that duty to be purveyors of lies. Did anyone see the Sara Palin interview on CNN? Disgraceful!!! Just the latest from these people.

"Obamanomics" A "Recipe For Recession"
merrie
by merrie  7-30-2008    2
Thus, while Mr. Obama also proposes an alternative minimum tax (AMT) patch, he could instead wind up with the permanent abolition plan for the AMT proposed by the Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D., N.Y.) -- a 4.6% additional hike in the marginal rate with no deductibility of state income taxes. Marginal tax rates would then approach 70%, levels not seen since the 1970s and among the highest in the world. The after-tax return to work -- the take-home wage for more time or effort -- would be cut by more than 40%. That would, obviously, devastate the economy. Worse, it is unfair. It is simply immoral for the state to confiscate 70% of anyone's income. It would be deeply ironic if, at a time when the rest of the world is moving toward greater freedom in the form of lower tax rates, the United States were to regress to the stultifying statism of the 1970s. Yet that is exactly what Barack Obama promises.
