POPS5 keys to getting a clip popped In light of some of the recent conversations on the site about the pop-able character limit, I’ve been thinking about some of the factors that influence whether a clip gets popped. It seems to me that these are 5 factors that play a key role in determining a clip’s “pop-worthiness”

POPSWelcome to the Clipiversity We were talking recently about how much we learn each day from reading clips on the site. I won't speak for anyone else, but i definitely have learned more from the clips that you all have posted than i did in high school, college and law school combined. Sad, but true. So, Skiff set out to create a fun podcast that highlights some of the interesting clips we find each day. It also gives us an opportunity to weigh in on them. Now you can sit back and listen to highlights from clipmarks on the clipiversity podcast...and don't worry, there will be no pop quizzes...get it, pop ;)

POPSEricW gets promoted!!! W did such an incredible job bringing reason to our decision making, that we decided (in a unanimous vote) to promote him to President. Director just didn't give him proper credit for his uncanny ability to bring reason to this place. Thank you W...and congratulations!!!

POPSNot In My Name Will the real notinmyname please stand up? .:) Now... bear with me here clippers, it has been a bizarre few days on clipmarks recently and I MAY just be paranoid, but this clipper has NO clips, NO comments, follows only ME and only pops MY clips. No one else's. Now.... to me, being a bit wary these days, could think someone was trying to set me up, yet again, to make it seem like I have multilple profiles. I'd just like to make it clear to whoever this clipper is, that I have written to the clipguys and asked them to check the IP of this clipper, if for no other reason than to preempt any accusations that might come my way. If this isn't yet another "conspiracy", then disregard this clip and all I can say to this new clipper is; Welcome to the insane asylum. .:D

POPS1321 clips? What happened to my other 850? Looks like my too-long-to-pop clips from the "ancient times" have disappeared from the statistics. I rushed to search my collections and whew, luckily they were still there! :-) So archaic clippers like me, don't panic if you see your total clips number appears "reduced" on your page. ;-) You still have them. :-)

POPSMy 100th Clip Thanks to all my fellow clipmarkers for a great first hundred clips. This is a great site and I look forward to clipping and popping in the days ahead. Special thanks to everyone that has popped or commented on my clips. To Sohil for being my first "follower" and to the Clipmark staff for continually upgrading the site to make it more interactive and enjoyable.

POPSSPECIAL CLIPS FOR PEOPLE I don't want to take over someone's clip so I would like input on this one please. Coming up in June There are two clippers having birthdays that I know of. I intend to make special clips for them. How do all you other clippers feel about this?

POPSA Fair(y) Use Tale " In the fun category, Professor Eric Faden of Bucknell University has created a video review of copyright principles. You're probably thinking, "How could anyone make a video about a legal concept even mildly entertaining?" But Faden's truly inspired video works on many levels because it consists entirely of extremely short clips (often no more than one word) from a wide variety of animated Disney movies. It's thanks in large part to Disney that copyright - which was designed to encourage creativity by giving the creator control over copying for a limited time - now lasts for the life of the creator plus 75 years, or, for a work of corporate authorship, 95 years. But thanks to the short length of the clips, its non-profit educational nature, and the fact that it would in no way affect the potential market for the copyrighted works, Faden's video undoubtedly falls under fair use."

POPSCan't pop clips I haven't been able to pop clips since early October. I didn't notice for a while because the button clicks and the count goes up, but if I come back to the clip it isn't popped.

POPSNew Clipmarks Updates Excellent updates. I was looking for easy way to get to My Clippers list, and now My Topics list would come in handy as well since Clipmarks is now matching (or surpassing) the digg/reddit sites....this btw is a compliment because Clipmarks does social-bookmarking better than anyone else on the face of the internet-world.

POPS'Friends only' clips I think this might have been suggested before but it may also have got lost in another suggestion. Would it be possible to have a middle ground between public and private clips. For example, clips which are only viewable to people you have 'friended'? I have often wanted to post something more personal for people I know well to see, but I don't want it on the web for all the world to see. So being able to select who sees it and who doesn't would be great. (By the way, just tell me when you want me to quit with the suggestions already - I realise that it might get annoying after a while! :))

POPSHi! it's 4000 total pops for me today! HI! I have reached the 4000 pops mark! Quite a few months back, when the clipmarks was young, and when we clippers were almost new, there was a flurry for the 4000 marks of pops: I had always wanted to reach this, somehow had a gap in my visits to clipmarks and got delayed in achieving this target...wanted to share with you..

POPSOuyangwulong Turns 100! Here it is, my 100th clip mark! I know it's not as many as some of you out there with like 10,000 clips, but hey, I have to pay my bills somehow! Please don't haze me!
