But it's still shocking to realize that medical device makers have been so sloppy. And that this is a problem not unique to the medical world. Wireless computers are rapidly becoming pervasive in our lives, and designers and manufacturers need to stay on top of security concerns. We have to stop thinking of computer security simply in the context of strong email passwords, firewall software and anti-virus scanners, or else we're setting ourselves up for a nasty period of suffering through everything from hacked hearts to supermarket denial of service attacks.
