POPSYes, We Need a Bush Era Truth Commission! A truth commission regarding the Bush-era's practices in the "war on terrorism" (as if one can sensibly declare war on a tactic) is much in order. The lies that led to attacking and occupying Iraq, the reports of torture and extraordinary rendition for the purposes of torture, the warrantless wiretaps, the targeting of peace groups for investigation--all of that needs to be addressed by a forum like a truth commission. But to make it objective and credible, it should be run through the auspices of the United Nations. Since the policies of the Bush administration had extra-national impact, it is only proper that other nations have a voice in the investigation.

POPSBush's Script for Talking About His Record If you work for George Bush you might have a hard time thinking of anything he has done well. So just in case you are stumped, the Bush administration has provided a script to his cabinet secretaries and other top ranking officials. It's an act of pure desperation.

POPSAmericans Overwhelmingly Want GOP to Work w/ Obama Not only do Americans want the GOP to work with Obama as President, but they want the GOP to embrace his progressive views. The poll indicates Americans voted for him because they thought his views were the right ones. The cooperation the Americans want will not happen, of course. Already GOP names are being floated to run against him and right-wing media personalities have begun to attack him.

POPSRare Images of the War The US military has done an excellent job of censoring images like these. Perhaps if they hadn't been so skilled at denying free speech, support for the war in Iraq would have declined sooner rather than later. By the way, you are allowed to react to these images with your emotions. That's what makes you fully human. Don't let anyone tell you that you should view them solely from the cold aspect of reason. Such people are only censors of a different sort. They would censor your feelings.

POPSOkay, Then, Let's All Say It Together: IMPEACH! If they lied to Congress and the American people, then impeach them. If lying about a BJ is impeachable, then lying about the reasons for going to a ruinous war ought to be impeachable. This is not complicated.

POPSMcCain Says Obama Wants to Surrender This is the beautiful thing about McCain. He loves the gutter. He likes being mean. Already he is dancing on the edge of it and the race hasn't even begun to heat up. Just wait until this race gets more intense. McCain won't be able to resist his addiction to verbally abusing people. He'll lose control and Obama will win big.

POPSRove Tries to Rewrite History about Iraq War Rove actually peddles the idea that the Iraq war resolution wasn't a Bush administration initiative. Rather, it was a Congressional one by the Democrats. Clearly, the GOP is feeling nervous about how the war will hurt them in November and they want to spin it as much as possible as the Democrat's fault.

POPSMcCain Taking Trip During Campaign You'd think that someone who was running to be President of the American people would stay in the US during the campaign. But John McCain will spend his time on his sole passion: foreign affairs.
