POPSBe Careful What You Protest For Unable to remove the guarantees and unwilling to properly charge for them because the banks remain too weak, they will try to limit the risks through more intrusive regulation. The results should be clear enough: lower bank profits, less capital generated, less credit created, lower economic growth and more bureaucratic control over the banks and the wider economy. The protesters should be careful what they wish for.

POPSApril .... You Know . Finally, ending up where we started with the car companies, I watched the press conference by the Obama-appointed Chairman of GM, Fritz Henderson claiming that GM would cover up to nine months of car payments for people who bought a GM vehicle then lost their job. . I thought that had to be an early April Fool's joke. Where would Fritz Henderson get the money to do that? I mean, that would be just about as funny as giving mortgages to people to buy houses who … . Oh. Wait a minute. You mean my tax dollars - already going to people who bought houses they couldn't afford - are now going to go to people who buy cars they can't afford? Looks like the joke's on me.

POPSGovernment To Set All Salaries at Bailout Companies And while Timmy G might have problems running TurboTax and figuring out what he has to pay - aren't you just thrilled that he will be setting the pay of every single person in every single company with a penny of bailout money. I wonder if this includes Barack Motors - or BM?

POPSFire The Real AIG Frauds They whooped through trillions in spending without even reading it. And then are "surprised" and "angry" that its being used in ways they don't like? And these are the people who are going to run GM, all of our health care, and provide energy?

POPSWindfall Losses - Government Assitance To Come? No screaming from spittle-flecked leftists about the conspiracy to drive down the price of oil and cause oil companies to lose money. Don't they deserve a bailout too? Don't be so hard-hearted. What's a couple of billion more when you are already throwing away a trillion.

POPSBanking Queen Saves Home State Bank the future of the American economy. A bunch of nitwits in Congress randomly deciding who lives and who dies (and that will be literally if we give them control over our health care).

POPSMovies for 2009 Silenced 1984: Acclaimed documentary filmmaker Errol Morris interviews the survivors of Hollywood’s notorious Reagan-era ‘Year of Fear,’ when only three McCarthy-themed movies were released. Fearful Deadly Fear: Blacklisted 1950’s screenwriter Damon Runyan (Tim Robbins) writes a secret screenplay about the the McCarthy-era blacklists, in this 1950’s blacklist drama set against the background of the McCarthy era blacklists. The Red State Menace: Hollywood patriotism returns with a vengeance in this contemporary crime thriller starring George Clooney as an undercover G-Man who infiltrates a Kansas Rotary Club to uncover Republican subversives for the House Un-Obama Activities Committee.

POPSSantaCorp Pleads Case For Bailout "You might say it's a perfect snowstorm," said Merrill Lynch analyst Jennifer Rothstein. "The youth consumer market is demanding more for less, at a time when the government and courts have forced SantaCorp to lower its 'good list' credit rating standards. They face increased non-union competition from the East Pole, and huge increases in fuel prices for magical reindeer flying hay. It's a hard sell for the investment community."

POPSPaulson's Pliable Plan Remember when the House Republicans voted no and were told the world would end? Remember when we were told that buying troubled assets would save the financial system? No assets have yet been bought. The whole thing is a monstrous scam and deserved our opposition.

POPSNo Screwing Up Stuff Without Representation Now, maybe it would be wrong to vote out of office the Representative of another district, but can’t we all vote to strip of them of any power they have? We remove these people from their committees and send them to a separate room in the Capitol where they have to sit quietly and can’t do anything other than vote on bills. It will be like the special ed class of the House. Their idiot districts can keep electing these people, but none of us should have to deal with them. Now, everyone will probably get partisan about this and try to strip all the Representatives on either side of all their powers, but if that happens, is that really a bad thing?

POPSUS Government to Bail Out Christmas Inside Treasury, some officials privately worry that such a precedent could result in the nationalization of Santa Claus, leading to similar calls for help next year from the Easter Bunny and even Valentine's Day. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson personally concluded, however, that "Santa Claus is too big to fail."

POPSThe Next Bailout - Newspapers The one thing that is fun is watching these self-inflated egotists go down in flames. By definition, if they are producing something that nobody will pay for - its not worth anything. And certainly not my tax money.

POPS2012 - New Car Debut Best of all, the Pelosi GTxi SS/Rt is made right here in the U.S.A. by fully card-checked unionized workers and Detroit's famous visionary jet-set managers. Even if you don't own one, you can enjoy the patriotic satisfaction that you're supporting the high wages, good benefits, and generous political donations that are once again making the American car industry the envy of the world.

POPSHave We Already Tipped Over The Edge? By 2012, it will be more than half on the dole, and this will be an electorate where the majority of the electorate will be able to vote itself more lollipops from the minority of their compatriots still dumb enough to prioritize self-reliance, dynamism and innovation over the sedating cocoon of the Nanny State. That is the death of the American idea – which, after all, began as an economic argument: "No taxation without representation" is a great rallying cry. "No representation without taxation" has less mass appeal. For how do you tell an electorate living high off the entitlement hog that it's unsustainable, and you've got to give some of it back?

POPSFive Percent Oops - that last item about morals, for those progressives that means right and wrong.
