12 Popular Wikis that actually ‘WORK’
Newfman

 (6) WikiSummaries - short, quick summaries for thousands of books. (Summaries: Freakonomics, Getting Things Done, …, see other bestsellers) (7) WikiMapia - cool mashup between Google Maps and wiki-style editing. Lets you browse, view, search and add descriptive notes to any location on the globe. (8) Wiktionary - multilingual, comprehensive, user-edited dictionary. Provides word definitions, etymologies, pronunciations, sample quotations, synonyms, antonyms and translations. (9) Uncyclopedia - extremely entertaining wikipedia clone, that is filled with funny and not-necessarily correct articles. Check out: Colonel, Britney Spears, Donald Trump, …or an image pulled from an article about Women. (No offense ladies, it’s just funny…)

Tornados (picture set)
alanocu
by alanocu  7-10-2007    6
Having spent the first 20 years of my life in Oklahoma City, enormous wall clouds (such as the ones pictured) and tornados were common to see, especially during peak season. I can think of several times mom would throw me in the bathtub or closet on the weatherman's cue (sometimes the bathtub is the only thing left when a tornado finishes wrecking your home). The most horrendous tornado occurrences were rare. Most often, they were quick and would cause some property damage, but they go as fast as they come. I do remember a couple of scary moments (close encounters) and later going outside to find rooftops missing from houses, and baseball sized hail on the ground. Rare, but it happens.

This site is fabulous and one of my favourites. When you get tired, why not just lean back and let someone else do the reading for a change. LOTS of stuff here, to make you smarter. Go rummage through the titles. Tons of stuff for FREE and all downloadable. :) I clipped just a few titles at the end (until I ran out of characters) to show you what sort of stuff they offer. Enjoy! .:)

Vaseline - A cure for all your ills?
CrazyRedHead
by CrazyRedHead  4-15-2007    13
From the article: It is useful as a face cream for the same reason - the more moisture that can be retained in the skin, the plumper and less wrinkled it looks. Dry skin conditions, including eczema and even psoriasis, benefit from this added moisturisation too, but also from the fact that a Vaseline barrier reduces the penetration of irritants. "Eczema is probably caused by allergy-causing molecules getting into the skin," says Prof Hawk. "Any occlusive moisturiser would help to prevent this, but Vaseline is more bland than most, there are no perfumes or colourants, so it is less likely to cause irritation."

10 Things you might be better off not knowing!
aculton

The average male foot exudes half a pint of sweat each day. A person will pass about 11,000 gallons of urine in a lifetime. A man weighing 200lb would provide enough meat to feed 100 cannibals in one sitting.
