POPSWho Is The Real Patriot? I may not agree with his religion or some of his views, but I'd rather be in his fox-hole than Dick Cheney's or George Bush's.

POPSRepublican Plan To Kill Off Government
View the chart on the right, notice in the past 30 years, how the Repubs have been pushing us down into a deep financial hole. Why? I can only come up with the conclusion that the red side of the aisle is out to kill off government, as we know it, altogether. Allowing them free reign to privatize EVERYTHING in the world which will allow their dreams of a World Global Market, in which they become the rulers of, to come true. The damn pesky Dems keep getting elected in interims and bring the NAT'L DEBT down to a manageable size. Just imagine if they had ruled straight through this 30 year period, their fantasies of total control would be actualized by now. I know this is a simple analogy of what the hell they are up to but maybe that's how they get away with what they are doing. Just act as though their plans are SO COMPLICATED, too difficult for the average American cretin to understand. Waddayathink? Lot's of info in this link: http://www.thethinkingblue.com/natldept.html

POPSWant to waste some time? Pray Here we have an interesting opinion piece showing the uselessness of intercessory prayer. Read the whole article for good questions to ponder. Why do people keep begging for divine magic when it plainly doesn't work?

POPSKnowledge is damaging to fundamentalism What I found most interesting was Altemeyer’s conclusion that actually reading the Bible can drive people away from fundamentalism. As Mary says: For the first problem: when the Bible is actually read, the actual text causes problems for the discerning reader. “The Bible was, they said, too often inconsistent, petty, boring, appalling, self-serving, or unbelievable.” Altemeyer found that although many fundamentalist Christians profess allegiance to an inerrant Bible, very few have actually read it completely for themselves and some who do find the inconsistencies too great.

POPSRadical Christian Gay Hatred Given Music Video Voice I realize that this voice is not that of MANY Christians, but it certainly is the voice of MANY at the same time. I realize that these are not the good teachings MANY Christians live and even die for, but they are the beliefs many hold as the real teachings they believe. This work is the sort of rhetoric which will only serve to divide, ultimately even in violence, when what we really need is to unite in peace. In my mind, being aware of the existence of such work is as important as being aware of all hatred held with meaning, which is why I have clipped it. My question is, what can be done with such individuals as Donny Davies to help them understand that they hurt their cause rather than further it, and mankind as a whole, with such expressions? It isn't his belief in Christ I fear, it is his zeal and his sanity, ultimately, which concerns me. I'd label this man and his partner Christian terrorists and nothing less.
