POPSDemocrats wimp out, Mukasey gets green light Once again the Democrats wimp out, fail to stand up to Bush. The issue is not one to take lightly. So why do the Bush grovel again? With Bush threatening to not put anyone in office the job would default to someone congress did not have approval over and who could be appointed by the White house. I suppose this is the final reason and perhaps a good reason but it is truly bothersome as well.

POPSWaterboarding used by other groups as torture taint USA So -- the Spanish Inquisition, Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge, the WWII Japanees soldiers, all used waterboarding torture and now the U.S. Military under orders of George W. Bush and Dick Chaney -- good company we in the U.S. are keeping aren't we.

POPSBush throws tantrum - acts like spoiled child Hand pick someone who will do you bidding and have congress reject them -- what do you do? You throw a fit, act like a spoiled child, call everyone unpatriotic that opposed you and do it in front of a hand picked group of reporters. Time to call your Bluff Mr. Bush, will the American people continue to sit by and let you become the dictator you appear to be? The attorney general is the office and has the power to go after the president -- this of course is why Bush want his puppet in the office. The attorney general is not a political seat, it is the head of the US justice department who work for the people -- to protect the people - not the president. The people need some protecting against the Bush administration.

POPSBush think only "responsible" Attorney General must accept waterboarding ?new standard for confirmation that could not be met by any responsible nominee for attorney general" -- So clearly, Bush is stating that he considers responsible nominees for attorney general to support waterboarding and other torture methods. I want to see an attorney general who will uphold the law and go after Bush for his flagrant breaking of US and international law.

POPSWaterboarding is torture....Period Ever read 1984? Double speak and New Speak seem to have come to reality and with domestic spying *blinks* well G. Orwell would find his novel parallels frightening. What next? The constitution is not being followed, international law broken, treaties trounced, what next -- oh yea Iran.
