POPSDrugs and Crime Scraping the insane drug laws which make it profitable for criminals to engage in drugs in the first place would be a great start. Admit it's a medical and not a legal problem. Turn the resources to that end that are now squandered on law enforcement.

POPSMcCain Dusts Off Mushroom Cloud Since the republican obviously aren't going to score any points on economic issues or health care, they've decided to trot out the the straw man of the Democratic president waving the white flag of surrender. I guess it's the best they can do. Pretty pathetic...

POPSTime for a Change? Obviously, the comparison to the Prohibition Era is called for here. That same mindset is underlying this War on Drugs. This "war" is a fiction. Overuse of recreational drugs is a medical problem, not a legal problem. And underlying the whole concept is the religious based idea of denial of pleasure in this world. I'm afraid this problem will be with us for some time to come.

POPSToo Little - Too Late Chemical prohibition works as well as alchohol prohibition. /addiction it's a medical, not a criminal problem. It becomes criminal because of the profit motive because it's illegal.

POPSStrap on Your Sidearms Boys - It's Wartime Again The time is here! Dig those trenches; arm the battlements; the heathens are at the gates!!!! This is one "War" I find great amusement with. Watching fools act out their paranoid fantasies has great entertainment value.

POPSDown the Rovian Rabbit Hole I wonder if Rove, having lied for most of his life, has bought into his own mythology? Someone should introduce him to the concept of Google. I'm going to go quietly now and pull all my hair out!!!

POPSWar on Christmas I'm considering a tree based on Dante. The lower branches could really be interesting in their ornamentation. Now that's a tree that would be interesting to decorate.

POPSDeaf/Dumb/Blind President Perino needs to retake a basic math class. She refers to appeasement of radical groups; yeah, like 66% of the country has turned radical. And mouth-breathers still buy this crap.

POPSPayback is Hell A life of hiding and lies catches up with oldster. Some transgressions are too monstrous to ever forget or forgive. I don't suppose his life in Germany is going to be any easier. And don't weep for his wife. She abetted this criminal for decades.

POPSPoor Christians - Thrown to the Lions Again For all the Liberals out there who have fallen in love with Mr. Paul, I suggest they take another look at the real Ron Paul. Sure he's against the war in Iraq but that's not his entire agenda. This quy is more of a nut than most think.

POPSRescuing Our Constitution The article is too long to give it a really meaningful clip here. Link to the full article to appreciate and put into perspective the shenanigans of the Bush Crime Family.

POPSBush and "enhanced interrogation" The recent hearings ICW the AG nominee have brought the subject of torture to the forefront. This article is a brief glimpse into our not too distant past and our views on torture then.

POPSGet Ready for the Great Battle The Holiday season is almost here. It's time to dust off your battle gear and get ready for another bout of the War on Christmas. Onward Xtian Soldiers!

POPSDuck and Cover - Again? Just when you think this administration couldn't possibly botch up things any more you read something like this.

POPSHitch and the War I've never agreed with Hitchens concerning his stand on Iraq. As the author claims, is this a turning point for Hitch? I think that we'll have to wait and see.

POPSTroubling Revelation This is my first exposure to this story. I must admit that I find it deeply disturbing. If the facts are as presented then this bears further looking into.

POPSThe Price of War A statistic you don't see much is the cost to the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis who have been killed in this fiasco.
3
POPSOut of Iraq It's time to pressure Senators to start voting the will of the people and forget about politics. They need a backbone implant.

POPSA Brief Respite for Iraqis Even though I don't follow sports news this story brought me happiness. It seems like the Iraqis could use a break now and then.

POPSAdministration Takes Us for Fools Bush apparently can't even tell these days when he's lying. He continues to repeat bumper sticker sound bites as though they're gospel. BTW, if he's so desperate to "get the money to the troops as soon as possible" he should simply sign the stupid bill. And the Dems seem to have lost the spine we tried to insert in them during the last election. It's a lie that the troops are or will not be funded. Pure political BS from Bush. And Bushies believe it. Gullibility reigns supreme. Bush appears unable to be able to read the sentiment of the country. The vast majority want us out but he and his oil cronies don't want to let go. They have too much invested already.

POPSOlmert - Bush Connection Doesn't this sound suspiciously familiar? Could it be that Bush has another brother? It sounds as though Olmert has taken a page right out of Bush's playbook.

POPSNot all Support Bush Nothing I could say compares to what this woman experienced so I'll shut up. Do read the entire piece to appreciate her side of the story.
