    Failed Oilman Bush Acts Again
    AtlLiberal
    by AtlLiberal  7-14-2008    2
He was a failure as an oilman and as a President. More offshore drilling wil have no effect on the price of oil and most sane people know this. One could therefore speculate if this is driven more by George's twisted relationship with his father or just another example of his gut feeling thinking. Next year can't come soon enough! This man has done enough damage already.

Like many Americans, I had lost hope that Bush would ever be brought to justice for his lies to the American people and his abuse of the Constitution. I don't wish to jinx things but is this the beginning of hope that Bush will now be held accountable for his crimes? We'll have to wait and see.

Another example of McCain living his dual life. Trying desperately to distance himself from Bush and simultaneously following along in lockstep with Bush's strange ideas. More and more McCain is appearing to resemble the doddering uncle that everyone ignores at family reunions. How can anyone seriously consider this man fit for the Presidency?

Aside from the immoral aspect of torture, why has no one questioned the idiotic Republican claim that they have prevented terrorists attacks since 9/11? Seems to me that close to 4,000 American soldiers and by some estimates close to 1,000,000 Iraqis have died as the result of terrorism. I suppose it depends on your definition of terrorist.

Make no mistake. Bush's real reason for this veto is his indebtedness to his rich friends in the insurance industry. He doesn't care about health care. He cares about profits and an economy based on the doctrines of Milton Friedman. Bush even made remarks to this the last time he vetoed this legislation saying that he would never allow "socialized" medicine in this country. What a dork.

It was telling that the speech took place at the library of the countries champion of religious bigotry, George H. W. Bush. For those too young to remember, in 1987 when asked about atheists he responded: “I don’t know that atheists should be regarded as citizens, nor should they be regarded as patriotic. This is one nation under God.” Romney, during his "I'm a holy, godly, person" speech made no mention of unbelievers at all. He simply regurgitated what would bring the Religious Right back into the fold. His talk, filled with homilies and half-truths should play well among the sheep he's trying to attract. Incidentally, he was also stunningly silent on Mormonism itself. Not too surprising when one considers the sheer idiocy of this belief system.

    AtlLiberal
    by AtlLiberal  11-14-2007    12
Look for new lies from Creationism/ID as it adapts to criticism and unveiling of its distortions and frauds. Make no mistake, these people at the Discovery Institute are ruthless in their quest to insinuate religion into the curriculum. They will use any method to accomplish this goal. These are not simply people gathered together to "give another perspective". They are organized to force their agenda to teach religious myths to our children. The last sentence of the clip is chilling considering High Priest Bush has used the same language. No one considers Bush to be versed in science, given his record. The dangerous part is that he does hold the power to cause real harm to education and that is a problem that will last long past his failed administration.

If it wasn't such a serious topic this clip could be seen as funny because it completely misses the mark. It seems that our present Congress just doesn't get it. This is not about politics. This is not partisan. This is one man attempting to do his job of protecting the Constitution of the United States against enemies both foreign and domestic. Why they continue in attacking Kucinich (often in the most childish ways) or why they continue to ignore the reality that the majority of the citizens back impeachment remains a mystery .

The legislative Dems, while not full fledged vertebrates yet, have shown signs of awakening. This spit in King Bush's eye is a start. Yet there is wonder among many Democrats what exactly the plan is? They want action, and they want it now. This burying of the Impeachment Resolution has pissed off a lot of Dems and this doesn't really make up for what is perceived as too much politicking and not enough doing. Now the wait is on for what's to follow. It doesn't appear that the leadership will listen yet to the people's voice.

Republicans again appear to be without a moral compass. They are presented with a program that has been demonstrated to work (SCHIP) yet they cling to their political dogma of privatization and shrinking of government. I find it stunning that they so hate the idea of government actually helping citizens that they would fight against a proven winner.
