POPSSoldier's Angels No matter what you feel about the war, seems to me that making a gesture of care and support to those men and women serving is a great opportunity.....for us. The woman who started this is General George Patton's 'great niece', and apparently just won the title "America's favourite Mom", lol. Just a random clip of stuff from site, much better to go and see for yourself :) www.soldiersangels.org

POPSHeadline of the story a tad misleading it seems.... Price rises send New Yorkers delving into dustbins for free food!!!!!! (not) The best part of this story were the two comments at the end: 1. Emma from UK: This has been going on in London and amongst students for years. I lived in a house almost entirely furnished from the bins behind charity shops while a student last year, and became very skilled at finding free food. This state of affairs has nothing to do with the credit crunch... 2.From dapi, qingdao, china: I cannot believe it. (me neither)

POPSAtta Girl!!! Inspiring :) (courtesy of the amazing moonbattery.com) Excellent idea from a gal who really walks her talk. Check out what she did: Thanks to the wonderful “Pin-Ups For Vets” supporters who purchased hundreds of calendars, the 2007 fundraiser was a success. Here's a quick re-cap of the 2007 highlights: *** I made many visits to our hospitalized Veterans and Wounded Warriors to deliver the donated calendars. *** I mailed hundreds of calendars to our courageous deployed troops, to our honorable retired Veterans, and to supportive civilians here at home and around the world. *** I partnered with a non-profit group to arrange the delivery of hundreds of care packages to our troops overseas. *** I raised thousands of dollars for programs that benefit hospitalized Veterans. *** I received four American flags that were flown by military units in Iraq in honor of the "Pin-Ups For Vets" project. *** I rode in a "Salute to Veterans" parade and sold my calendars there. *** Th

POPSFat people next on the list........ Moonbattery.com: Environmentalists frequently scream that there are too many people on the planet, implying some will have to go. We already knows who goes last (environmentalists), but who goes first? LiveScience has the answer: overweight Americans. n the United States, obesity is at an all-time high; two-thirds of adults in the Land of Plenty are overweight or obese. Obesity is perhaps the ultimate symbol of resource consumption; it's visible proof that overweight people already has more than they need — and take more anyway. Overweight people create more air pollution than thin people do. It's simple physics: Extra pounds translate into extra fuel in automobiles and airplanes. Extra fuel means increased energy usage, oil drilling, and air pollution. (Plus you can get more soap and lampshades out of overweight people.)

POPSGlobal warming kills Nessie :( lol, this moonbattery guy is a riot: Someone has been discovered who has actually been affected by the phantom global warming phenomenon — a famous personage who will be dearly missed after his CO2-induced demise: the Loch Ness Monster. Legendary Nessie hunter Robert Rines is giving up his search for the monster after 37 years. Despite having hundreds of sonar contacts over the years, the trail has since gone cold and Rines believes that Nessie may be dead, a victim of global warming.

POPSEco-therapy........unreal.
another gem from moonbattery.com "Fear, grief, anger, confusion and depression," Edwards says, pointing to the negativity that has manifested itself in real-life symptoms such as neck and shoulder pain, fibromyalgia and fatigue. "I had so much pathos. It's so sad," says Edwards, who moved from California's crowded Santa Monica to a secluded cabin in Los Padres National Forest to help her cope. Now, she says: "We only drive to the grocery store every three weeks. We have our own source of water. We compost and no longer heat every room on the first floor." Edwards suffers from eco-anxiety, the growing angst experienced by those who can't handle the thought that they — or anyone — are in some way contributing to global warming, species extinction and dwindling natural resources. She recently launched a blog called "Eco-Anxiety" because she believes environmental dangers should be taken seriously. "This is severely disturbing," she says. Experts say discussions about t

POPSTop Scientist cools to global warming From Moonbattery.com: Kerry Emanuel of MIT used to get his name in the papers by claiming that global warming caused Katrina. His opportunistic findings were eagerly seized upon by the deranged Robert Kennedy Jr., who tried to spin them as proof that George W. Bush caused the hurricane. In an attempt to retain some credibility, Emanuel is now backing away from his hysterical claim that global warming will cause a plague of hurricanes. Now he says there will be a reduction in the number of hurricanes over the next two centuries.
