POPSAnother Story of Religious Child Abuse More bone headed tales of misguided cult followers believing muttering pleas to their invisible friend will magically cure disease. Unfortunately, in this case, the recipient of the "prayer treatment" died for no reason. And because of religious brainwashing the 16 year old agreed to this non-treatment. Sad indeed.

POPSEx-Bear Stearns managers arrested for fraud! Welcome to un-regulated capitalism. "Barclays accused Bear Stearns of knowing for months that certain assets in the Bear Stearns High-Grade Structured Credit Strategies Enhanced Leverage Master Fund were worth "far less" than their stated values." The big shoe to fall... Naked short selling!

POPSTheist Quotes - a collection from various forums This doesn't even scratch the surface! Most of it is hilarious, and sad, that people can be so intellectually impoverished. I left off the names because they are probably embarrassing by now, assuming these people have improved their thinking. But the site (and shown here is a very short sample) credits the source and the person (otherwise you might not believe it with your own eyes)!

POPSQuotations by Abraham Lincoln ""In religion, Mr. Lincoln was about of the same opinion as Bob Ingersoll, and there is no account of his ever having changed. He went to church a few times with his family while he was President, but so far as I have been able to find out, he remained an unbeliever. Mr. Lincoln in his younger days wrote a book, in which he endeavored to prove the fallacy of the plan of salvation and the divinity of Christ."

POPSSaudi women -- gaining success, breaking barriers "In addition to Al-Dossary, these women include Nahed Taher, who went to Bahrain to set up her own investment bank in 2005 and has since become a major investor in infrastructure and energy projects in the region; Nabilah Tunisi, a leading executive at Saudi oil giant Aramco, who oversees 380 engineers as a manager on project support and controls; and Samra Al-Kuwaiz, the managing director of the women's division of Osool Brokerage Company, which is tapping into the growing wealth of the country's women." "Saudi Arabia is decidedly not an easy place for women to succeed: Women are not permitted to drive or vote..."

POPSIslam: A Cover for Crimes Against Humanity Can anyone imagine some cat up there who was actually in charge and appointed this filthy little slob to be his overseer of the underlings, making sure they all please this psychotic deity? Uhhhmm, me neither. So, sanctioned by this jackass of a god, this bastard rapes and kills for a living. Just another, in the long list of examples of why religion is the worse idea in the history of humanity. Call superman what you like, Allah, Yahweh, Jesus, Yehovah, Whatevah ... just call any of these names and your criminal psychosis becomes licensed.

POPSAmerica's War on Journalists No. It's the Bush administration's war against journalists. And what was done to Sami al-Haj can be done to any American, thanks to the Patriot Act. We need our freedoms and our dignity as Americans back from the tyranny of this administration.

POPSA Game worthwhile playing ! As a serious gamer I am certainly going to devote some time to this one. The idea is brilliant. Collaborative computing may bring breakthroughs that are decades away otherwise. If you pop this at least give the game a try :-)

POPSThe Code of Hammurabi Hammurabi (ruled ca. 1796 BC – 1750 BC) believed that he was chosen by the gods to deliver the law to his people. The Code of Hammurabi was one of several sets of laws in the Ancient Near East. Most of these codes come from similar cultures and racial groups in a relatively small geographical area, and they have passages which resemble each other. The earlier Code of Ur-Nammu (21st century BC), the Hittite laws (ca. 1300 BC), and Mosaic Law (traditionally ca. 1400 BC under Moses), all contain statutes that bear at least passing resemblance to those in the Code of Hammurabi and other codices from the same geographic area. The complete text of Hammurabi's Code of Laws. http://eawc.evansville.edu/anthology/hammurabi.htm. Quite shocking. The photographs were taken at the Louvre Museum in Paris. Invictus has a clip on Hammurabi: http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/92611450-2366-40A4-8825-C9287250A843/
