burnbright says: she can't win unless she plays dirty enough to tear up the democratic party. if that were to happen, say goodbye to a democratic win in november. hillary needs to stop attacking her party-mate and start focusing on the real issues. Maybe she believes Obama cannot win and she can. ...the general election that is. but the polls don't support that either. the last i saw, they were pretty even up. and i don't believe that's the case anyway. mccain vs obama? please. i mean, to even enter into the contest, you have to believe that you're the best for the job anyway, but after a certain point, you need to look at the reality of it. if she plays dirty to get the nomination, she's going to have a harder time winning the general election, i think. The polls mean nothing at this point. McCain has strong moderate appeal and that appeal will grow larger when the primary season is over. Clinton has some moderate appeal as well. Obama does not have as much moderate appeal as either. Especially now that his support for a racist preacher has come to light. That will not go over well in Middle America. There are many that believe these recent revelations will be so damaging as to cause "buyers remorse" among Democrats. Hillary has a chance to make that case now that it appears she will stand to be more competitive against McCain. Well anyway, the one thing we know for sure is that we don't know anything. We didn't know 2 weeks ago that Obam... i agree the polls mean nothing. but i don't know as i believe obama does not have as much moderate appeal. and have you listened to the speech? i don't really think that you could classify obama as going to a 'racist church' (seems a bit of a generalization) and i believe he HAS revealed what he stands for. and, no, i don't consider myself a "leftist-pavlovian zombie" for believing that he is the better of the three. Yes I listened to and read the speech. Several times. The fundamental belief of Obama's church is Black Liberation Theology. It is entirely racist. Obama has gone to this church for 20 years. He is going to have some explaining to do and if he wins the nomination he is going to have 6 or 7 months to do it because I think his campaign could be consumed by it. It is an extremely remarkable thing that he has managed to put the Clinton machine on the ropes given that he has no real experience, his legislative record is extremist. He says he is a unifier, but every time bi-partisan legislation was being worked on he was on the extremes with Bernie Sanders. Clinton cannot exploit that fact becau... Oh Burnbright, don't listen to willhelm's rhetoric. He is one of the most politically incorrect clippers on clipmarks. Likes to use big words, self convinces himself of his own intelligence. Only several months ago he was telling us that the stock market was on fire.....on fire so much he was almost ready to retire..... now he goes around telling people that we haven't seen the worst of the economic meltdown. Total inconsistency. Polling has shown that only about 29% of republicans believe the church Obama belongs to represents his views. Just two days ago a cousin of mine who lives in the panhandle of Texas called my Dad to ask him his impressions of Obama. My cousin who has commented bef... In this case Bobby is right, and has the proof to back it up. I believe yanceducat arrived at clipmarks one month ago. Therefore he knows everything about all clippers here. He doesn't realize that many of us already have established histories of interaction. He professes to be a Hillary supporter but has run into the open arms of willhelm the most confessed Democratic despiser. I find that interesting. Little does yanceducat know that in defending willhelm he defends the one person singled out by the creators of Clipmarks as "the most rudest clipper on Clipmarks". I will say, after willhelm's December meltdown he has refrained quit a bit. However, he was the one who set the bar on using terms like idiot, moronic, ignorant, and "I have a brain". ... Even Clinton's staffers now rate her chances at "no more than 10%". It's over, and we're waiting for the superdelegates to summon the courage to stop the bleeding. BR, you are a most despicable liar. Oh? What part have I lied about? The thing is, at this point it is impossible for either of them to win it outright before the convention without the other one dropping out. This one is going all the way and will end up being settled in the back rooms of the democrat convention. I agree with n2. A rare occasion. There is no reason for Obama to drop out because he is ahead and will remain ahead. Hillary won't drop out because her ambition won't allow her to do what is best for the Democratic Party. The back rooms, in my belief, will go for Obama. Nancy Pelosi already said that the super delegates should not overturn whoever is leading at the time of the nomination. I believe she is keenly aware that the last time the Democrats did that in 1968 it was a disaster. BR, i believe i have had run-ins with willhelm before. that doesn't make each and every one any less frustrating. i don't like talking to brick walls. if i were in hillary's shoes, i think i would have a hard time letting it go. i don't blame her for seeing it to the end. i blame her for being an idiot about it. i blame her for being an idiot about it.That is your opinion based in the fact you want Obama to be the nominee. However, Hillary has 2 things going for her that Obama does not because Obama cannot get the nomination outright either. 1. Hillary has more broad appeal and while she is a radical she is not seen that way by middle America. She stands a better chance of beating McCain and regardless of what you hear on ficticious polls or other sorts of propaganda Obama knows that is a fact. 2. Obama's radical nature, authoritarian bent, divisiveness, lack of experience, positions on issues, exposed ideological racism and incompetence will be exposed by McCain. If the Dems come... Another possibility for HRC staying in the race is that maybe she believes Obama would be bad for the US and she wants to hurt him as much as possible so she can run in 2012 against McCain. That's an unlikely scenario as it would require Obama resigning after his first 4 year term as President and the republicans fielding another catastrophically incompetent nominee field allowing McCain to win the republican nomination at 76 years of age. And then Hillary would have to explain both her votes for the Patriot Act and giving Bush authorization for a wreckless war while being trounced by Russ Feingold. It is clear that the Dem voters have chosen Obama. That isn't clear either since a number of states don't even have a vote. The caucus states have gone heavily for Obama, and those states are decided much like the candidate will be decided in the final convention, lots of wheeling and dealing. Take Texas, it has a split system. And while Hillary won the popular vote, Obama won the caucus delegates. If anything is clear it is that nothing is clear at all. |
