Forensic psychiatrist Dr. Michael Stone developed a hierarchy of "evil."

I heard about this watching the show Most Evil on TLC.

I think we need a scale of depravity as well.

I've always wondered what has happened in the dark recesses of the human soul that motivates people (mostly men) to randomly seek out victims, torture and murder them. Cooey comes to mind. Totally and completely sick. When their depravity reaches this point, your family and mine should be forever protected and free from their 'evil' compulsions.

We quickly kill a rabid dog, raccoon or other animal that is uncontrollable in their crazed state (and since humans are evolved animals) why the hesitancy to deal with these in much the same way? They will even tell you that they can not control themselves and shamelessly acknowledge their retched condition. They should be pitied; but never, ev...

I wonder too how a person develops these desires or compulsions. Last night on the show they talked a lot about the way people recognize emotion in others, and how some people's brains don't function properly, in that they cannot recognize pain or fear in another person. It just doesn't register. Scary.

Hi there, MOC. It is always nice to see you around.

Evil is a strange.
It is define as: morally objectionable behaviour

But many things are morally objectable but not necessary evil.
And can you really call someone evil if they are a psychopath, is it not someone with a mental disease and who is emotionally unstable. Or is this just another phrase for evil. A euphemism so to speak.

Good question. I think you can. Just because the illness is the cause doesn't make the behavior less objectionable, just makes the person less responsible. I think it really depends on the definition of evil.
