The article says it is practiced by Christians and Muslims alike, coming from Africa and the Middle East. Odd, I've never heard of this until I heard of honor killings, which is particularly an Islamic tradition. Female circumcision was banned in 2003, but since then, no incidents of it have been prosecuted even though one midwife said she treats 400-500 cases of it.

When I lived in Egypt in the mid '70's I became aware of this. My housecleaner told me about it and I persuaded her to show me what had been done to her. The mutilation is done, basically, to prevent a female from enjoying sexual intercourse. It is a barbarian and criminal act. I think muslim fanatics we capture should have the heads of their penis' cut and scarred so they too can experience what they impose on their defenseless women. One more example of the nature of the savages we are fighting and killing.
