surreal is a good word for this. probably the only word. thanks for the link. having been to Beijing a few weeks ago, I wonder what happened to Beijing traffic while this procession was talking place along what is really the main artery of the city!
Having said that, I imagine the majority of the population would have stayed home anyway to watch this transmission live on TV.
