I say a bunch of us leave the democratic party and join the republicans, and reform them into something better, to take over washington when we become dissillusioned with the party in power.

Maybe we can cause a schizm in the GOP and break the two party stranglehold, let other ideas be presented.

I don't think, though, I could hang around with what now appears to be the core of the Republican Party -- the moralistic evangelical so-called Christians. It would be a drag and I'm sick of hearing their negative talk and non-stop negative judgements -- I've 'unplugged" them.

But, Re: "take over washington when we become dissillusioned with the party in power" -- a parliamentary form of government is more what democracy should actually be: small voices/small parties get represented in Congress - by wheeling and dealing to make ruling coalitions small parties can gain significant power - unpleasant governments can be challenged by calls for new elections at any time.

The word 'parliament,' though, makes most Americans snooze...maybe just integrate some of it features?

Attempting to impeach a President DURING A TIME OF WAR may very well have blown up in their faces.

However, impeachment was off the table doesn't mean that War Crime Trials are off the table, at all.

Any DA in the USA could file war crime charges (if they can link effects of the crimes to anyone in their state)...in many places citizens (that means you, or me, or anyone) can actually do a petition to impanel a grand jury.

Lots of folks don't know about this; but now you do; you don't have to blame inaction on Pelosi anymore. Once Bush leaves office, he's fair game.

Torture is a war crime, so if anyone in your state was tortured by Bush that might work. Just document the law, document the crime, start the case.
