Questions about this recipe? I really enjoy Halloween. I remember a friend of mine growing up, her parents wouldn't let her trick-or-treat because, I guess there was a demonic element to the holiday that they didn't find appropriate. The thing is, as a kid, it was about the candy and costumes; the haunted houses and the parties. I dunno, it seemed like a bit of overreacting. I just kind of felt bad for her because she was left out of the fun. Great recipes by the way! I dunno about all the taboo stuff adults force on their kids My philosophy on kids is to let them experiment with the normal traditional things with their friends and not be so strict. If kids learn values within their family, they will hopefully make the right choices when they're away from home. Halloween is a fun time for kids and even adults. I used to wear a costume to pass out candy when the kids came to the door, but now days parents probably think that that's deviant behavior!!! Panera's Cream Cheese Potato Soup looks like it might be fast and easy to whip up. The beef stew does look yummy. I need some cooler weather! I'll have to have a better look at that recipe when i have time, but those snakes look cool! And Merrie--you should still dress up. Kids love it when adults get in on it, and if you're worried, you don't have to dress scary. There's plenty of adults that do it up here, when i take the kids out. Actually i like it too Thanks for the recipes, btw. ....thanks lollipop10 for the comments.....you just gave me inspiration to go for it......I'll do a "pirate" with an eye patch, a bandanna and some shiny, glittery scarves. ******** I need some cooler weather! I use my slow-cooker in warmer weather. I cook the meat for 1 hour on high, then turn it down (1-2-3-4-5) and leave it overnight. (about 8 hours) Spare ribs are the best, the meat just falls off the bone. Merrie, I love my slow cooker. a pirate sounds good! |
