wildcat says: a must! read it all, thinkers will love it.. Amazing debate with the Jesus of conventional thinking. Great clip, wildcat. You are absolutely right--this is a must read! Interesting but not fair to either Socrates or Jesus. Socrates's questions gradually revealed the underlying reason for a persons actions; which was rarely the reason the person initially espoused. In this case, Jesus is not being asked questions about any of his actions. You'd think Socrates would start with "Why do you go around saying you are the son of God?" or "Why do you call yourself the fisher of men?". And Jesus is made slightly ridiculous as the mouthpiece of those who take the bible literally; which is not true of all Christians. And the second question would be: How could an infinite unchangeable omnipotent GOD be flattered by the worship and servitude of anyone? And the third question would be: Explain the blood sacrifices, torture, and burning of the innocent to pay for the crimes of the guilty. Explain the intelligence behind such obvious injustice. |
