This seems to be a more accurate statement than Thomas Paine's, especially since the bible hasn't been around quite as long as cruelty has. And when Paine speaks here of the "Bible", I believe he is referring to the Old Testament, as most critics do, as opposed to the new. Age of Reason covers both. Ok ,,great!,,logic wins again!
