Feds: Imam Who Led Radical Islam Group Killed in FBI Raid Wednesday, October 28, 2009 DETROIT — Federal authorities say a leader of what they describe as a nationwide radical fundamentalist Sunni Islam group has been fatally shot during an FBI raid in the Detroit area. The U.S. attorney's office in Detroit said Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah refused to surrender when the FBI raided a location and fired a weapon on Wednesday, and Abdullah was killed in an exchange of gunfire. Abdullah and 10 others were charged in a complaint with conspiracy to commit several federal crimes, including illegal possession and sale of firearms and theft from interstate shipments. A[b]... The FBI was trying to round up Abdullah and 10 followers on many charges, including conspiracy to sell stolen goods and illegal possession and sale of firearms. A Brief History of Firearms Regulation in America http://usgovinfo.about.com/blguntime.htm 1972 The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms is created listing as part of its mission the control of illegal use and sale of firearms and the enforcement of Federal firearms laws. What your point, shaor. The Feds were executing a raid when the gunfight broke out from the "priest" and his "congregation". (no doubt with illegal firearms the feds were attempting to confiscate.) My point was; what a way for a priest to live! He should be setting a good example for his 'flock' not going up against the law! He should be setting a good example for his 'flock' not going up against the law! The imam chose to preach anti-government rhetoric to ex-convicts that he converted (propagandized) into Islam. The salient point isn't about examples, it's about opening fire using illegal firearms on federal agents that ultimately resulted in his death! (and sadly, the needless death of a federal k-9 !!!) Well I think a priest should be law abiding, don't you? Well I think a priest should be law abiding, don't you? If law abiding is defined as not using lethal force against anyone, including law enforcement officials, that begs the question, IMO. |
