Twee paarden die de koets trokken, sloegen rond 20.30 uur op hol waardoor de wagen het publiek inreed. Het incident deed zich voor tijdens de jaarlijkse ringrijderij in Ermelo. De koetsier, een 32-jarige inwoner van Putten, raakte zwaargewond. Een bijrijdster bleef ongedeerd en een 66-jarige vrouw uit het publiek liep een hoofdwond op.
