The Infowarrior says: more @ source. Only three of the 763 "sneak-and-peek" requests in fiscal year 2008 involved terrorism cases, according to a July 2009 report from the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Sixty-five percent were drug cases. I have to admit, that I am on the fence about this one. Mind you I am not on the fence about this extraordinary power 'only being a temporary measure'. We are sheep. Baaaaaa. It only hurts "bad" people, we are "safe." baaaaaaaaaa. Jeebus, "on the fence"? The beginnings of the "drug war" was just an excuse to use the Prohibition agents and not shrink the Federal government following repeal. After Reagan it was used to destroy the Constitutional protections that had made ours the best place on earth and again to grow the government and its power over our lives. A gilded cage is still a prison. No warrants, legislating morality and pursuit of happiness, forced vaccinations and jailing without due process for nothing more than speaking out against the evil. I'm living in a farkin' nightmare and most love it. |
