I understand the panic on Bush's part. But should he and his cronies expect when the president and the vice president say that it does not matter what Congress thinks or says, they are doing whatever they want to do anyway? That is not a position of compromise or negotiation. They should think before they decide to act like bullies, which seems to be their particular hallmark.

The Bush administration has said they don't give a damn about what American's want in regard to this war. They are going ahead with their particular "strategy". Now, they are panicking?? What an incompetent bunch of hubris laden corporate and big money serving idiots.

As said before, Bush's administration is all about ego's and power and has nothing to do with INTEGRITY.

Have you ever notice how many times Cheney says:
"I," or "I think," when he speaks; ('I,' means 'ego') it's never
"We."

In private conversations, the officials are telling senators that the resolution would demoralize U.S. troops and hurt the GOP politically for years to come.

Bush allies are arguing that Republicans will damage their individual political interests as well.
What a GREAT reason to send young US soldiers to their death... to serve the political needs of the Republican Party.

Would someone please impeach this tinhorn cowboy and his effete eastern shore ventriloquist before their continued actions brings civil war to America?

There is a reason the constitution gives the power of Commander in Chief to one man and not to congress.
There is also a reason why the President raises his right hand and gives his solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Many Constitutional lawyers and others are in full agreement that he has broken that oath in a determined campaign to increase the power of the Presidency at the expense of: the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Separation of Church and State, and the fundamental freedoms of all Americans. There are many examples that back up this claim if you care to research this subject. Bush and Company, along with his political appointees (think Gonza...

The constitution was not written to create a King.

King Bush needs to be dethroned.
