Does anyone here at CM use it? What's your opinion about the site?
My brother is nagging me to start a facebook page but I'm still on the fence.

Not a Facebook user. No regret in that.

I have one to network with business associates, keep in touch with family members and certain friends. It is restricted to those purposes.

Used to have an account earlier in the year but then I found out who is behind it, and its purpose.

Do You Have A Facebook?

No Facebook, no Twitter, no MySpace. I have a LiveJournal, which I post to fairly regularly.

Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace are all too attention-twitchy "whatcha doin' now? how about now? now? and now?" My LJ gives me more leeway to post short things (like a "quote of the day" when one grabs me) to longer things.

As Spiritualmonkey said when he decided to cancel his Facebook account, "Facebook and Twitter are about 'what are you doing?' LiveJournal is about 'what are you thinking?'"

I have a FB account... I rarely do status updates though. I hardly ever use it anymore really.

I like mine but have only had it about 8 months. It keeps me in touch with my children; they share their pictures, things that interest them, and what they're doing. I do the same. Also get updates from distant family members that I never see anymore. I share things that interest me. I like some of the applications and polls. I learn alot about my "friends" from the surveys. My "friend" list is fairly small but I do have one Clipmark "friend". He's cool. I find it entertaining. Plus I don't like phone calls. With FB I can *talk* when I want to and they can answer (or not) whenever it's convenient for them.

I'll agree on the Twitter part, but I use LJ and FB for the same thing; what am I thinking?

If I was into the "the moment," I'd have kept my Twitter. But I find such things fundamentally useless in my life.

Frankly, let them spy on me. It won't be any worse then when dawn finally breaks over afore mentioned family members heads that I'm what they would refer to as a "tree hugging, gay loving, PC liberal fringe wacko".
Granted we all love each other alot but being the youngest I get a lot of "we're older, we know better" flak.
