This is all rhetoric to get us to accept nuclear energy. The federal government cannot earn any credentials on the global warming issue until it shows us where nuclear power will replace fossil fuel generation. It certainly will never be on board until it stops the export of coal for larger populations to use generating electricity.

Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile says Australia needs to invest more money in greener energy technology. </P><P class="wallacepara">
A Federal Government report into uranium and nuclear energy has found the nation could start producing nuclear power within 15 years. </P><P class="wallacepara">
But Mr Vaile says Australia is rich in fossil fuels and must look at ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. </P><P class="wallacepara">
"We've got to invest - as we are in technology - to make them, deploy them in a cleaner fashion," Mr Vaile said. </P><P class="wallacepara">
"We can capture the carbon dioxide gas emissions and we can lead the world in clean coal technology. </P><P class="wallacepara">
"So states like Queensland can continue to capitalise on the wealth that's been generated from its largest export industry and that's the coal industry."   </P><P class="wallacepara">
