Kore7 says: Kristol ended the show with: "In all honesty, Democrats don't need a positive program. They should just keep quiet and let Republicans attack each other.” The increasingly bitter in-fighting within the GOP ranks continues unabated. Could Kristol possibly follow Fukuyama into anti-Bush territory? Looks like he's pointing his escape-pod in that direction... A moment of clarity perhaps. Since coming from Australia (where the system is broken, but not beyond repair) I've beem amazed and appalled at how much the political cycle effects who's with who and what gets done, if anything. *affects, not effects (hope my mother isn't watching) Looks like he's pointing his escape-pod in that direction...Man that's a great way of putting it. It seems like the internal strife of the neocons is centered around ideology vs. experience. The more practical are jumping ship now, as the experiment goes awry. Well it only took them five years for reality to sink in. Let's see if they can rescue their movement from the association with George the Incompetent. Personally I am disgusted with these people who have put their ideology ahead of country all this time. I'm just afraid that they will get rid of Bush and pick another comedian to replace him (Arnie ?), with exactly the same crew of Pentagon/CIA executives who really run things. Anyway. The first choice of the neo-cons (in my estimation) is Jeb Bush. But if the name Bush is so soiled I'm not sure who they will pick. They don't like Bush, maybe he is not radical enough. He didn't start the war with Iran and Syria yet, he is cowerd. I think Rumsfield or Dick would be better choice |
