The other side is the game, you treehugging hippy! Why thank you, shortbus. I'll take that as a compliment. I have often wondered why some feel the need to slaughter innocent animals and then call their perversion "sport". But then again perhaps it is some sort of primal stirring, such as I might feel upon the mere thought of hunting hunters. Hunters don't play fair. If they did, they'd use a knife to fight a bear instead of shooting it. Hunters usually can't "win" if they play fair, so they cheat. They cheat in heinous ways, including high-powered weapons, artificial scents, lures and decoys, blinding their prey with light at night ("jacking"), and killing partially tame animals raised on or imported to "game farms". Unfortunately I've probably missed several more hunting cheats, but you get the picture. They cheat and then take pride in their "hunting skill". There is no sport to hunting. Agreed, Darcy! Great quote. And in some places in Africa (like gingembre says above) these animals are tamed for some time, then let go into the wild so they're easier to kill. Hunting is just wrong! Now excuse me while I go hug a tree... do you eat meat? Thanks to you tree-hugging hippies for your support. To the muffinman -- no, I don't eat meat and probably will swear off muffins from now on as well. Muffinman, you only make hunters look more savage by suggesting that we hunt our fellow human beings. Honestly, do you really think the right-wing looks better when you further prove that you immediately resort to violence to solve your problems? And an ethical, healthy person should strive to reduce their meat intake. I won't claim that everyone should abstain from meat entirely, but at the very least eating white meat (poultry & fish - no, pork isn't white) only will make you a healthier person. And of course, it'll also reduce the amount of suffering in the world. That is, eating only white meat as the meat in your diet; I didn't mean leaving out other food groups. @darcy |
