I used to do a lot of stuff like that. I made some really good bread and butter pickles. I had a small electric food dehydrator for some fruits and I made a big one from 2X4's and screen for large bunches of fruit like apricots. I canned and froze a lot of fruit and veg too. I don't do it anymore because produce is so expensive and I sold my freezer. Maybe someday.
