CNN reports that Margaret Truman, only daughter of former president Harry S Truman, died on January 29 at age 83.

Truman was the author of several mystery novels centered in Washington, as well as having a brief career as a a singer.

She wrote a great history of the White House, called The President's House, that I enjoyed.
