Ask yourself, "What's the worst that can happen?" and hopefully you will come to the realization that there is no harm in interacting with others.
Hmm. Did a phobic write that? Bad experiences with people, are very hard things to talk yourself out of. What IS the worst thing that could happen? *shudder* Is the fear of others always "irrational", when you know what evil things, people are capable of? It seems perfectly understandable and rational and logical to me.

Approximately 13% of the US population suffers from some form of person-related phobia.

Thanks for bringing out a subject that many people do not understand. It is normal to feel fear and everyone knows what fear feels like. But phobia's are based on a irrational fear; that is a fear when there is no physical threat present, just a mental threat. It's an exaggerated fear. So the fear has just gotten exaggerated and more intense than the more subtle human reactions we all have. The good news is that phobia's are perhaps the most treatable of all anxiety disorders! People sometimes suffer needlessly for long periods of time with these disorders and some never find the help they need. De-sensitization is the key for treating phobia's. Well my daughter's kitten is turning into an animal! (Did that make any sense??) If she doesn't stop waking me up at this unGodly hour I'm going to quit giving her kitten treats. I'm so mean
