DOJ saying that they have the right to violate your rights, and you can't do anything about it unless they tell everyone they did it and in publicizing it, they hurt you in some way. If you publicize that they did it, you lose your right to sue. WOW.

Maybe he "adopts Bush policy" because it's the right thing to do. I think if you dig a little deeper, it's not "your" rights that are being violated.

But their are, if you do dig deeper. The rights of all Americans. And because they are Bush policies doesn't make them right.

Just because they are Bush's policies doesn't make them wrong either. And they are not in my opinion. Tracking suspicious calls (from suspected terrorists) coming into the US is not an infraction against my rights.

But that is not what they are doing. They are spying on everyone, massive surveillance without warrants. A clear violation of the Constitution.

That is wrong no matter who is doing it.

jatfla, are they not taking away a right to seek justice if you, or anyone innocent is wiretapped? The wording takes away a constitutional right to seek re-dress if innocent. It's like the death penalty I guess. If we kill a few innocents-- oh well?

The conviction rate at Gitmo proves that hardly anyone the government says is a "terrorist" is, and Americans (who are the ones whose phones and emails are being tapped by NSA, without warrants, thanks to AT&T et al) have a right to a presumption of innocence, and right to 4th amendment protection from government intrusion (secure in their persons, property, and possessions, from warrantless searches).

No one is a "terrorist", or "suspect" without evidence, and for that they must obtain easily a warrant "issued upon probable cause".

Bush government (and now Obama) wanted the power to surveillance all Americans, anytime, at will, in a massive Dragnet. That is the mark of a Tyrannical, ...
