Now that big business is getting in on the picture and complaining big time about needing relief from providing health care for their employees, we have the perfect opportunity to introduce single-payer, national health care. As Mr. Reich's article points out, we are not talking single choice, but simply single payer, such as Canada and other countries provide all of their citizens. Health care should be a right, not a privilege. Preventive medicine has been shown to be the best way to cut the major medical costs for everyone. But it seems that the conservatives in our political system are blind to all of those people who are sick and dying because they simply cannot afford to buy into the health care system we now have.
